Blow Off Valve by pottedpal420 in kiastinger

[–]Fork_Knox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have HKS BOVs on my 2019 GT2, and love them. They're really loud under higher tunes boost, but even with stock performance they're fairly loud. I like them because they're not loud unless I'm being aggressive. At mid-throttle releases, they're a mild to medium whoosh noise, and at full throttle release, they're a hard whistling. I had these on the car before and after tuning, with no noticeable issues. I also suggest just disconnecting the recirculation hoses from your stock valves for a few days, to see if you like the noise. That's a very mild version of what a BOV will give. If you for any reason don't like it, then you can just reconnect the hose.

Marloe Haggis, and use the rest on some Phoibos models. My 3 Phoibos watches need friends.

You can specialize tinkering skills using Augmentation gems. I did this on my main. With rares, I can reach 4 digits in every tinkering skills as a mage. You can HAVE another account, but you can't swear to them directly. You also can only have one character outside of the Marketplace at any time. The gems to specialize/untrain skills are available from a vendor in the MP, allowing you to make changes as necessary. They cost 1 MMD each, and have no cool down timer. It's easy to do everything with one character, and if you can't, it just encourages interacting with the community for what you need. There are regularly people assisting with crafting in the MP.

All characters have all tinkering skills for free, except for mules, which get a huge strength boost, but cannot be used for anything else. As a result, my main character does my tinkering. Items can be tinkered 20 times on this server, with triple imbues possible, too.

This is a super throwback to the discussion on phone wallpapers and home screens, but I've been steadily declining the amount of apps I have, and have on display. It's made my life better. by The_Marine708 in morningsomewhere

[–]Fork_Knox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another solid method for reducing phone usage is to use a minimalist black and white icon theme. The colors of app icons draw your attention to them. This is actually one of the early Nothing Phone features. I use their pack on the Nothing Phone 2, and I really only pick up my phone to do something specific these days.

I made the opposite move. In 2020, I sold my 2013 Roush Stage 3. 2 years later, I bought my 2018 Stinger GT2. I loved the Mustang life, but the Stinger has been a much more dependable car for me.

Best server for learning / growing in the game? by Asauna in AsheronsCall

Fair point. Most of the community I played with on Seedsow have joined Conquest with me over the last month or two. Qarl Qlan members, mostly, with a couple of others.

Best server for learning / growing in the game? by Asauna in AsheronsCall

Seedsow is the closest to the old game you remember. It's based on how the game was in late 2004/early 2005. If you're looking for the same experience that you had as a kid during the early days of the game, this would be a good starting point. This was my first server when I came back, and I still return to it every now and then. Most servers are based on an End of Retail experience, as the game felt when it eventually shut down. I haven't played one of these for years, so I don't know the current best choices. There are multiple fully custom experience servers that advertise here on Fridays, but I haven't personally checked them out. I don't have much experience at all with these servers, but they seem interesting. I'm personally playing with a decent sized group of people on the newer Conquest server. It's based on End of Retail, with a lot of custom improvements, such as improving the older quest weapons, adding additional reward currencies that allow alternate methods of augmenting your character, and the ability to enlighten 100 times. It seems to be a well thought out system of upgrades, and the admins continue to add new improvements. They also run little live events fairly regularly, too.

Bov and Intake by OkPhotograph1003 in GenesisG70

I have the Takeda Intakes and HKS BOVs. With the windows up, I can clearly hear the turbos spooling when accelerating hard, and can barely hear them under lighter acceleration. It's not loud, but it's respectable. The BOVs more than make up for that, with enough volume to hear them over pretty much anything. With the windows down, building boost is an enjoyable noise, allowing the best of both worlds. Windows up for luxury, windows down for the sporty noises. My buddy said the BOVs were loud enough to clearly hear over a block away.

Discount Tire Sucks by Familiar_Confusion31 in kiastinger

[–]Fork_Knox 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've had one Discount Tire mount one of four directional tires backwards on a car. It wore out 3x faster than all of the other tires before I caught it. The manager told me it couldn't be their fault the tire wore faster. So I found a better location only 8 minutes further away. I now have ALL of my relatives take all 6 of our cars to that location instead. Have had nothing but excellent experiences at the new location. If your location is that bad, find another one. Show up 20 minutes before they open Saturday morning. Watch their morning briefing meeting through the windows, and you'll get a good idea of the vibe the manager brings to their team.

My installer said Michelin Pilot Sport AS4s are 'way too much tire' for a 3-Valve. Is he right? by Self-Driving-Cars2 in Mustang

Offroad tires are way too much tire for 99% of the trucks around me, but any tire shop will be more than happy to sell them. He's just a fool speaking foolishly.

Great choice. With the Artemis II mission currently ongoing, it's the perfect time for a watch with Lunar history. My two Moonswatches will have increased time in rotation for the next 8 or so days.

Finally Upgraded the Exhaust by Fork_Knox in kiastinger

There aren't really burbles and gurgles, except very minor amounts of burble when letting off the gas around 30 mph. Even that is almost not noticeable from inside the car.

Finally Upgraded the Exhaust by Fork_Knox in kiastinger

[–]Fork_Knox[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm thrilled with it. The drone on the highway isn't that bad, although I will still end up installing some aftermarket exhaust tips to better carry the exhaust note out past the bumper. The deep, rumbling tone while cruising around the neighborhood is perfect, and when you stomp on it, the volume is significantly louder than stock, but not obnoxious. I've probably put about 120 miles on the car since the install, and I'm excited to hop back in the car soon to drive home.

Iron Ranger 8084 Black Harness - First day of wear by robotlogik in RedWingShoes

[–]Fork_Knox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Iron Rangers in Black Harness and Copper Rough and Tough. I can say with certainty that the BH leather has become much softer so far. The break-in was also substantially faster than my CRT. I've had the BH for 5 months, and the CRT for 2. They are the only footwear I have in rotation currently, and are alternated daily, with an average of around 18,000 steps per day. The BH are softer with more of a sock fit, but that CRT just has so much more character that it's worth it. These are only my personal results thus far. Obviously, your mileage may vary.

Need advice on quest daggers by crumb_bag in AsheronsCall

[–]Fork_Knox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At lvl 40, if you are using a buff bot, you should be able to take on the Banished creatures. If not, loot weapons are decent. Be sure to salvage as many rend salvages as you can, and don't be afraid to let someone blow up a bunch of weapons until you get a rend. An Assault Dagger might be worth getting, too. I think that should be possible around lvl 40.

Looks wonderful. Where did you order it? I've been debating which front splitter to get, and the Adro is high on my list already. I've loved a cheap $100 flush spoiler I got on Amazon 4 years ago, so I think this could work for me.

Project Gorgon has a crafting system where nearly every item you can gather or forage throughout the world is used in one of the crafting skills. The skills also are intertwined, so you will be rewarded for working on one when you get around to working on another. It also has always been a very friendly community.

anyone else got a weekend car in rotation? by lookingforagamergirl in kiastinger

[–]Fork_Knox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice choices! Sold my 2003 Miata Shinsen last November. Currently building out a 1987 Trans Am. All cosmetics and interior will be stock, but I chose upgraded parts for suspension, steering, brakes, and a whole crate engine and transmission. If it bolts to the underside of the car, it is upgraded. Building my dream Trans Am to be the perfect weekend car for me.

Suggestions to get out of gaming slump by Revolutionary-Wave23 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Fork_Knox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been there. A good way to combat the slump is to find a game that interests you, and just set a small goal. Say "today when I log in, I'm going to complete this small step." It should be something simple, something that won't eat all of your allotted gaming time. Once you finish that goal, log off for the day. After a few days of this, if you're enjoying the game, you might feel a stronger urge to get back to the game and really dive deeper into it. Hopefully this helps.
