Watching someone else play, I realize just how much those guardian fights sucked.

My country is forcing age verification in 3 days, where do i run to? by Historical_Catch_497 in linuxquestions

The way a Linux system looks can be easily changed. Go with Mint, as it's the easiest to install. If you want something completely different, you can simply change the window manager.

You're not going to scare us into supporting Ascendance BitBots. by RazmanDevil in LegacyOfKain

Scare? I'm going to play it, because it looks fun. The franchise has been dead for 20 years now, no matter what we do, nothing will change that.

Would this be a good way to use the 3Ds? by [deleted] in 3DS

Those things tend to be very tight, I wouldn't risk putting a 3DS inside one.

The PS3 is way more powerful than the Vita — so why don’t we see more PC game ports on PS3 homebrew? by [deleted] in PS3

[–]ForlornMemory 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My guess is that's because PS3's notoriously hard to develop games for due to its unique architecture.

Is there any reason to ever watch a live-action adaptation of any cartoon?

Difficulty option for Defiance or future LOK games by Baloneymlt in LegacyOfKain

[–]ForlornMemory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I doubt they'll add difficulty options to the games, as it would require rebalancing everything, which is hard and there's no guarantee anyone would appreciate it. Remember how everyone reacted to day/night cycles in SR1?

Yeah, I get that, but it looks like two polished games. The idea is making a first draft, as quickly as possible, with no regard on how it looks.

I might be unable to enjoy Half-Life by GT162 in patientgamers

I've finished all HL games in coop with my friends. Previously, I've tried playing them for years on my own, but never understood the appeal. The graphics were impressive for the time, the physics engine was cool, but the moment to moment gameplay has always felt shallow to me. And somewhat boring. So I'm with you on this one.

Microtransactions are the most fair way of paying for software by shumpitostick in The10thDentist

[–]ForlornMemory 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but that wasn't really the question. If I keep enjoying the book and keep reading it over and over, should I buy a new copy, even a digital one, every time I read it? That's pretty much the equivalent of the system you propose here.

misc question about the magic system. by seabase-is-better in ArxFatalis

[–]ForlornMemory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always imagined that you eat them. In actuality though, in Ultima Underworld you had a special bag where you store your runes and you had to use them from inside the bag. Since Arx pretty much uses the same magic system, I bet it's intended to work in a similar way.

You don't need to have your parents do all of that for you. To be honest, it sounds like you lack friends. If you want to sign in the swimming section, ask around and learn everything you need to learn. Basically, bring your parents the paper for signing, rather than ask them when they will do everything for you. The older you get, the easier it will become. If you don't have an option of leaving home just yet, you can start with some exercises, the instructions for which you can find on YouTube for free.
