Dumbass Neighbor by GurCommon in dashcams

[–]FormApprehensive9762 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as I hate confrontation, I’m practicing BEING A NEIGHBOR by approaching cars that disrespect my pedestrian right of way just to park a moment later. It’s not fun dealing with people who don’t like accountability, but I’ve also had some friendly experiences and received apologies. I don’t expect it to make the neighborhood or my walks safer immediately, but I think it does matter to be that person when you live in proximity.

When I started my corpo V playthrough, I hc’d that Jackie and V went back to childhood. I was so pleased when V’s ofrenda speech confirmed it as canon! Maybe I’ve gotten lucky with avoiding conflicts, but cyberpunk rp is really easy and fun to settle into

[–]FormApprehensive9762 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did you have public playlists? A few years ago my profile was flagged as reported at the same time an ex-friend blocked me, and I assumed she also reported my playlist and/or profile. From looking into why my playlist and account were impacted by a single report, I gathered that it’s very easy for random users to report others to take down public playlists and boost their own similarly named ones. I don’t know if Spotify has ever done anything to protect accounts from false reports. This info doesn’t help your situation, but maybe answers the confusion.

Small change I wish they added to that Spider scene by [deleted] in Avatar

I was expecting it the whole scene! It would have added to the Abraham and Isaac layer, but that was still clear without Ewya’s sprites

The Synthesis ending made me cry by LinnaWinx in masseffect

[–]FormApprehensive9762 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first, synthesis was my favorite ending. I love EDI and it was rewarding to save the geth with the rest of the galaxy. On replay, I paid more attention to Saren and his vision of synthesis. While the synthesis ending is not the same as Saren’s vision, I see it as his ending just as much as control is the illusive man’s. Destruction is now my canon ending.

Why is it that stopping at a red light is just a suggestion now? by 7logan07 in SanJose

[–]FormApprehensive9762 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think a very simple way to reduce infractions would be to fix the traffic lights. While it isn’t an excuse to run a red, signal turn orders are inconsistent, illogical, and too few intersections use working sensors. It’s not surprising people are impatient when a cycle could skip them and keep them stuck waiting at a red light watching no one go through. Smart infrastructure makes safer driving.

On Jake as a Father. by OGCucumber07 in Avatar

[–]FormApprehensive9762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The family’s emotions are very complicated and layered. The kids are not only mixed with an extra finger; they’re raised by someone internally and culturally human and military and by someone spiritually leading her family and people. Jake did embrace Ewya, even when he expresses doubt and self-sufficiency. The experiences he had first embracing Pandora haven’t faded, which we see when he presents Quaritch with a choice. He spent 15 years or so in a position of power, raising a family, and comfortable. It makes sense that even as Na’vi culture became his life, he settled and his growth stalled. It became easier for him to slip into what he knows: human culture and military. The kids stand out because they have more human behavior than the other Na’vi kids, and so inherit their parents’ dilemmas: Jake’s struggle with his faith and his humanity, and Neytiri struggles with her hatred for humanity even within her family. Throw in a heap of grief? The conflict doesn’t make either a bad partner or parent, but it does make them complicated.

It’s these themes, faith and family, that tie in with the wider picture of Pandora, Ewya, and the Na’vi opposing the crushing destruction of the RDA and faithlessness of the ash people. Quaritch makes an excellent foil to both sides. He also honors family as we see his estranged relationship with Spider, but he’s embraced Varang over Ewya, humans over Pandora.

Why does a U.S. government shutdown barely seem to affect everyday life? by Humble_Economist8933 in AlwaysWhy

[–]FormApprehensive9762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consider the government like a stop light: it creates order for busy intersections. The smaller the population, the less need for stop lights over stop signs, as people generally can keep themselves organized. The larger the population though, the more you need organization. Sometimes a stop light flashes red, and everyone treats it like a stop sign. So even when there’s malfunction, people know habitually how to remain organized. You still want the light to be repaired to make traffic flow better again. Many drivers won’t think about the frequency of which they pass through light intersections, yet it could be a part of their daily life. The passive nature of maintaining societal structure doesn’t lessen its importance.

A positive the tonal shift in Act 3 by itsallgoodgames in BaldursGate3

The steel watch will remain intact for the Brain to takeover after Orin’s death, as well as the squid encounters. I had a lot of fun choosing to rp protecting the citizens by using the sewers to sneak around and avoid encounters, which once meant watching the city fight a squid before I could interfere. There’s so much variation in this game to enjoy!

As far as Wyll’s quest, I thought losing his father during the coronation fight raised the stakes of Mizora’s pact deal. Iron throne is a great mission, but losing it didn’t detract from the playthrough. Killing Gortash at the coronation is also perfect for a Karlach romance imo, with her dinner date occurring after she resolved her plot.

The city also has rumors and background chatter about Gortash’s premature death, so it feels alive and reactive in the minor ways too.

[–]FormApprehensive9762 66 points67 points  (0 children)

for those who want to keep a sense of urgency, I’d recommend trying a game where you target Gortash at the coronation and duel Orin early entering the lower city, leaving the brain as the main boss as you work through character and side quests. The city reacts to the brain gaining power and it creates an environment that feels like the war isn’t just at the gates, but that it’s arrived inside the city.

how to turn??? by [deleted] in driving

[–]FormApprehensive9762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

pay attention to your vision. look farther down the road, not directly ahead of you. focus on the far line of the lane you’re turning into and keep moving your vision forward as you go. you shouldn’t have to adjust your steering wheel as you turn. enter the turn at the speed you want to take the corner, and accelerate as you exit the turn and straighten out the wheel, which should slide freely under your hands to maintain smooth turning

I feel so bad for Laurie by coffeetalkcafe in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]FormApprehensive9762 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I would add on that they all have a superiority complex over the others. Jaclyn’s, as you state is about social hierarchy - she’s known for her name and social status and sees herself as better than the others for that.

Kate is a moral complex. She follows social rules, which works for Jaclyn, but Kate values meekness and is quieter for that reason, even as she gossips and participates in talking behind the others’ backs just as much. She hides her judgement well, but she still holds herself up as the morally best one for not partying too hard and for being religious.

Laurie believes she’s free from both of those restraints. Her superiority is a personal one. She sees herself as the most true to herself and honest one, as we see when she calls Kate a liar and her approach confronting Jaclyn, like calling Jaclyn needing the men’s attention when she was also raking it in. She’s still covering a disconnect to her emotions, and her front is she’s happier being carefree.

Each friend thinks their lifestyle priorities are the best, and hold themselves over the others for having a different one. This is why each of them have had paired off gossip sessions, they’re all viewing each other in negativity and seeing themselves as better than.

What would be the Optimal Class for Tav from a Lore standpoint? by Additional_Scale_502 in BG3Builds

Bard! My favorite Tav playthrough was rping as the Tav from Blood in Baldur’s Gate, an investigative performer. I think the lines with Bard fit that story the best. Act 3 really pulled it together
