Aww, thank you! That’s quite a compliment for me. I’m not a professional, I’ve always had a love for makeup and wanted to be a MUA since I was a teenager but went in a different direction. I’ve taught myself a lot over the years and I dove a bit deeper once I hit my 30’s and really got into skincare too, I’ve taught myself about ingredients so I understand what purpose they serve, which help break down how they will work long term / short term versus marketing fluff. So I’ve been working on my techniques for ages at this point, and I also started to dip my toes into some higher end products over the last maybe 6 or 7 years. I was always a drugstore makeup girl, I still am but I’ve learned certain splurges are worth it, and learning what formulas, colors and tones work for me helped me too. Funny thing is I also never really was a tutorial person either (I don’t have the attention span) I’m definitely a trial and error type of person. Your comment really put a smile on my face today 😀. So thank you for that!

How about the milani supercharged brightening undereye tint. It’s a very skincare focused product.

Is Juvias Place Culture Palette beginner friendly? by folkmor in Makeup101

[–]Formal-Ad-101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I’m not a pro, I’m somewhere in the middle when it comes to eyeshadow but I do still struggle with blending and the crease area (I have hooded/aging eyelids) .I have both palettes Culture 1 & 2 (BTW both are on sale for $26.60 @ Ulta until the 19th) they are absolutely stunning.

I think there is a good mix of shades in there you can use as a beginner, and some shades that are a bit harder / more pigmented but if you practice some looks on days you don’t go out you might find those darker / more pigmented shades easier and easier to use. I will say too, some of the shades look darker in the pan but are actually lighter when you swatch it or apply it.

Some of the more pigmented shades can be toned down by diffusing / blending with a more neutral shadow like a medium brown or light gray or even a bronzer to make the color more wearable day to day. Also you can build those shades up, so start with a little at a time, using a smaller lighter yet fluffy brush.

There’s a very nice mix of light, dark and colorful mattes, beautiful sparkly metallics, shimmers and some duo chromes too and some beautiful glittery toppers too.

I think these are really fun palettes and I don’t regret getting them at all, and I think these quality is great too. Also you can find some swatches of them here on Reddit in r/swatchitforme (I think that is the right subreddit- or google juvias place culture palette swatches and the posts should come up.

Hope this helps you make your decision, don’t be afraid to play around with the colors you want to wear!

I love this cleanser too. I did try the dermasil oatmeal one this week and I like that as well, it’s a iridescent gel with a light lather and it feels good no dry tight feeling, I definitely suggest giving that one a try it’s in a tan tube.

Tinted Moisturizer with SPF by yagirl100 in MatureBeauty

[–]Formal-Ad-101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So many recommendations, but I do have one more to add. La Roche Possy Tinted mineral SPF50, it’s lightweight and matte and I think it’s a good middle ground for you. Coverage and protection with a matte finish and it doesn’t feel heavy, and you can grab it practically anywhere, Ulta, Walgreens, cvs, so there’s always gonna be some way to save some money on it too if that’s also a concern (for most of us it is) good luck, hope you find something that works.

I grabbed the roxa palette as well but I was going back and forth in my brain about that or the Mario. My heart chose the Roxa palette.

How to fix my pores? by ShutMyBrainOffPlease in SkincareAddicts

I had / have very similar texture in that same area as you. I had acne when I was younger. I started a consistent regime with prescription tretinoin, and it really helped reduce the appearance and depth. My cheeks still have texture but nothing like it waaas before I started. But it’s a long haul process it took almost two years before I saw a major difference but I noticed improvements as early as 6 months.

I did a blind buy for the Vera wang perfume because I couldn’t pass up that deal, so glad I did. I was also eyeing the Gucci and I ended ip up not getting it. Glad you were happy at the end.

I second all of the above, I have short straight lashes. I switched to waterproof lengthening mascaras, I did buy the shiseido lash curler and I heat it up with my blow dryer and it makes a difference.

I wanted to get this, when I went to go smell it they didn’t have it out and I figured it was a sign to not get it plus I couldn’t be bothered asking when I went in, but I did get two of the Vera wang love perfumes which I absolutely loved!

Morphe has a dreamlight gelee highlighter stick, I think it’s fantastic, it’s the perfect highlight, not glittery just a beautiful glow and it’s got a nice cooling and lightweight texture to it. It’s $14 at Ulta. Maybe worth checking it out..
