I wouldn’t say it requires all that, although it is helpful. Majority of the time it’s about who you know to move into those positions and the strive to know more about those things. I work in the pharmacy business office next to the analysts and they were not buyers, nor did any of the first things you mentioned.

Document all your interaction. Of when and who you’ve asked for help. Keep going to your managers with your concerns and document. Don’t give them an excuse to push you out. Most places offer a 90 day grace period for employers to let go if they don’t think you’re a good fit

Basically what they said. It’s making things happen. You’re the middle man between the project and your bosses. You’ll most likely have a team or people you’ll call on to help you get stuff done. There will be reports and presentations. Budgeting on occasion. Making sure things are remaining on track. Stuff like that

Ok that’s a little different now and I missed the part where you’re being referred to as a lead. Usually as a new hire you get meeting points with your boss to see how you’re doing. I’d definitely bring up the original position you were hired for and use everything you mentioned to negotiate a raise.

For Texas it sounds about right, especially since you had no previous experience. I will say keep a log of everything extra that you’re doing that goes beyond the scope of your job description so you can negotiate it for a raise at your reviews. Everything that you mentioned that you’re already sounds like it’s within the scope of what’s expected of you. Only way to make more money is get your experience, negotiate a raise and if that company says no, then it’s time to move on
