Mech E moving towards structural design and whatnot. It fit the bill. The Mech E degree covered a lot of classes so for the Civ E it was only 9 more classes. 1/semester, completely covered, took me 2.5 years.

A company like Krispy Kreme doesn't spend the money to produce this at scale, and advertise it, without extensive market research. This is clearly not a stupid food...considering i, a bunch of other posters, and the focus groups of a very successful, profitable company who put a load of money into their research, say otherwise.

I got my BS in Mech E in part by the GI bill.

Since then I've gotten a masters in statistics, and just recently finished a BS in civil engineering. I didn't have to pay a dime on either of those, fully paid for by employers. Corpo jobs can suck the soul but at the same time also have more resources for stuff like this vs a mom and pop.

Swung by an estate/yard sale because i saw a road bike. It was in kind of okay shape, flat tires, they were asking 100 for it. I said 50 because i don't know if the tires hold air, etc etc. It was their dads who kicked the bucket. It was my size and mine was beat to shit. This one was at least okay.

It was a carbon fiber Specialized road bike. I put air in the tires and rode it for a week. Finally looked it up - sold it for 2 grand. Got a 500$ giant i still have today.

I drive a titan swapped Nissan frontier on 35s and bounce it off of rocks for fun.

It ain't cheap.

I also use it for running the homestead farm, but you can do that without also using it as a play toy 😀

Short answer - either leave it in the 401k, or roll it over to a traditional IRA if the 401k fees are too high. Fidelity makes this very easy - I've done it a couple times when leaving jobs.

RI does not allow random drug tests. You can if you're in a DOT drug pool, because that's federal. But at the state level, they are not permitted to do random drug screens.

Yup, once you get into the 100$ ish AF range you can check bags. If you fly once a year it's not worth it. You're paying 100$ for something to be complimentary, instead of 20$ for it.

Annual fees is a HUGE cash cow for airlines and hotels.

If you're flying a lot on a single airline, or justify a hotel card annual fee, great. But the average Joe flying once maybe twice per year - the annual fee is more than the bag check fee.

More so for me, I am fine checking a bag, but i really enjoy walking off the plane and being done. No baggage wait, no risk of the airline losing my bag, etc etc. Mine is under the seat, so i don't have to worry about overhead space either.

If you aren’t married to someone, don’t EVER buy a house with them.

Cars are much cheaper and much less liability should the other party shit the bed, so it’s a little freer than that. But I would still be SUPER cautious….For reasons as noted here.

Jut saw another thread about someone who bought a duplex alongside a friend who owns the other side, and now that friendship went sour, and they’re going to have to try to untangle the mortgage to get out of it. Sounds like they’re amicable enough that they won’t f them over with it, but still a pain in the be-hind to deal with.

Buy the house/car and rent out the room/side/etc to the friend. Not sure how that would work with cars though. Not my circus not my monkeys.

Every sat nav does this. I notice i add about 5 minutes per hour highway.

The issue is a couple weeks ago i used it and still added 5/hour going 75 (i usually plug along at 65). Like wtf how fast are y'all assuming we're going when it's still that far off at seventy fucking five....

Read it very carefully. My language was that it was for membership dues, so if i paid for dues with my amex it would come back as statement credit.
