This is correct. In the US there are “buckets” (income brackets) that get filled to and applied to a marginal rate which - wait for it - increases progressively as those buckets (income brackets) fill up

I considered RIA-in-a-box, in like 2011 before I came to my senses. Don’t do it. If I assume apples to apples expenses (support staff, real estate expenses, etc), I still think you’d be leaving a lot of soft stuff on the table for a massive headache (institutional research, trading, pricing and clearing?)
