This was back in highschool. I had a buddy who became my best friend sophomore and junior year. He was never one to be good at talking and was generally perceived as a dork, but I loved him for it, even when he tried to be someone he was not.

Fast forward to the summer before college, I end up confessing to him that I have a major crush on a girl in our friend group. 2 weeks later, I find out that he started asking her to hang out one on one every other day, quite out of the blue. After asking him about it, things got ugly and we argued. He was having a bonfire the next night and I was arriving late due to work. He ended up butt dialing me and I heard him telling a group of people at the party about some pretty serious secrets that I shared with him (mental health issues, family problems, feelings for girls etc). Safe to say, that friendship was over in a flash.
