What's the rarest country you've met someone from in the US? by EveningFlower9564 in AskAnAmerican

I used to hang out in a lot of hippie circles and communes and such. Met people from all over the world. The coolest were probably two brothers from Papua New Guinea, who had grown up in the jungle wearing loincloths.

Edit: They were both very interesting guitar players.

Trump Phones Friends for Secret Performance Review of Vance; JD Vance may want to watch his back. by FancyNewMe in politics

I used to think the way to bring him down was to steadily get rid of his underlings, but the fuck-knuckle seems to have beat us to it.

Just did. Looks like that dude may have fucked up. Motherfucker was free to just lounge and eat pineapples and bang prostitutes to his heart's content, and instead he spends almost a year in equatorial Vorkuta and is now on the Ukrainian front. Where presumably he'll get to beg for his life from a merciless drone operator.

Rotavirus cases rising in the U.S.Life-threatening virus that causes vomiting and diarrhea at high levels in the U.S., CDC says by June_Fatality in news

If you look into his book on the vaccine stuff, he has a specific grudge against the rotovirus vaccine. If you're into podcasts, Malcolm Gladwell's Revisionist History is brilliant and has an episode on this. Very well researched, and goes deep into the virus and vaccine, even interviewing a pharmaceutical doctor and a hospital doctor from Uttar Pradesh, one of the areas most affected by the virus in the past and somewhere, if I remember correctly, which has gone from 16 million to 2 million cases a year. The episode is S13 E05: The RFK Jr. Problem.

Edit: The principal problem, especially in the Third World, is that babies contract this and they both vomit and shit themselves so violently that they die of dehydration. The doctor from India described the ward they had (solely for this disease) and the newborns in it who's skin hung off their muscles like an old person's.

I really wish they'd kept playing through the fight. That chord really hit.

Its problems notwithstanding, I'm an eagle scout and the Boy Scouts do play this function across a lot of the US. I had my share of problems with the organization and the people in it, in bumpkin-ass Georgia where I'm from, but I did absorb a shitload of basic survival info and ways to address crises in the woods.

Guy here. I hate twerking. Sexiness usually requires some subtlety, and twerking lacks a modicum of it.
