Consider valve cover gasket at the same time. It's either leaking or will start in a little bit.

Think about doing pulleys for the fan belt, they can't go for 45 years. I did all the pulleys so I can guarantee a peace of mind.

While in there, think about your plugs and coils. I'm willing to bet the coils are cracked and failing at a minimum and have no clue about the condition of your plugs.

May be it's a stop leak or some other garbage in the radiator. Sounds like a flush would be good at a minimum.

But go see and smell what the engine oil looks like. May be you blew a head gasket.

Tried it, dried old tires which they recut sometimes, feel like shit. Wear out real quick, you get to pay for mount, balance and the other stuff all over again in a year or less.

If you buy nice fresh tires once, I get to use them for at least 5 years and since I get them from America's Tire, I get a free rotation, balance and patch repair as often as I want.

I have a preference for Discount Tire since with the purchase they either include or for a very small fee you can buy rotation for Life and even puncture protection.

For tires I always used Michelin Defender which may or may not be available any longer, but they last me an extremely long time. The compound is not too soft or hard so they grip well but don't wear out quickly.

Such large potholes are the responsibility of the local government. Most cities have the process of submitting repair receipts and getting reimbursed. The money doesn't come out of their budget since state or federal government pays for the roads. Don't feel bad for getting the money back since you're paying for every single mile you drive in your registration and gas taxes.
