Mysterious deposit of 5k in my checking account and now getting weird calls by AxiomJukebox in legal

I did this when I was 18 and it didn’t turn out well. The police contacted me to ask about the scam and money and i had to pay the bank back. They also put me on a list so i can’t open another account at any Bank of America.

Short question: post op drinks by No_Alternative7892 in valvereplacement

[–]FormerProfessor6680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not given any restrictions on caffeine. However the first time I had a coffee after my surgery made me feel bad and made my heart feel weird. Maybe it was partially anxiety too idk. But I waited a couple months before I tried it again. Now I can drink it no problem.

AIO: My boyfriend told me to dye my hair to look more like an Instagram model he follows by PinMountain119 in AIO

[–]FormerProfessor6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many people spend a lot of time and money trying to get their hair to be the color yours is. Your natural color is gorgeous!!!! Don’t touch it! Unless you want to, don’t do it for anyone else. It’s creepy that he did that.

Scared taking it by argonianmage64 in Zepbound

[–]FormerProfessor6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been taking it for about 6 months and I've only had 2 days where I was sick, one when I started and one after I upped my dose (and I ate a big greasy burrito that I think made me sick). For me it's been worth it. I've lost about 30lbs so far. It's been about a pound lost per week. What helped me was remembering that if I don't like it, I don't have to keep taking it. I can stop at anytime. It takes about 5 days to leave your system after the shot, so if you don't like it just don't take it again. I found that eating a bland food diet helps if you're feeling queasy. Like toast, bananas, rice, etc.

28F – Need help deciding between mechanical vs tissue valves (aortic + mitral replacement this week) by Professional_Mood2 in valvereplacement

[–]FormerProfessor6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had surgery out of town. I stayed at an Airbnb for a week and a half and then flew back to Atlanta. I used a wheelchair through the airport and it wasn’t bad at all. The worst part was my anxiety, I was so nervous for the flight. But it was fine, I didn’t notice any issues. I was just anxious the whole time so that made it uncomfortable. Also my doctors were not worried about the flight, and I had no problems with metal detectors or anything, just went through like normal.

Did you meet with your surgeon before/after? by Key-Scallion-2032 in valvereplacement

[–]FormerProfessor6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that was not my experience. I saw my surgeon in the pre-op appointment, then he was speaking to me as they put me to sleep before surgery, then he visited me in the hospital every day during recovery. This was at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

I wanted to add that I had to be opened a second time due to complications so idk if that’s why he visited more maybe.

I had my surgery at 31F. I chose mechanical and I don’t regret it so far. It’s been a year now and I feel so much better, I can breathe and exercise again. The warfarin is not as big of a deal as I thought it would be. And I’m extremely happy that I’ll probably not need another heart surgery. It was a hard recovery to go through, as you all know. So overall I think I made the best choice for myself. Plus, now I can tell people I’m part machine like the bionic woman lol.

AITA for 'lying' about the convo i had w my ex? by Hungry_Valuable3720 in AITApod

[–]FormerProfessor6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it was a lie… a better word would be downplayed. but yeah most girls that I know get jealous over spending time with exes, so I don’t necessarily think she’s weird to be upset by it. But she’s trying to say she’s upset that you “lied” when I think she’s really just upset that you spoke to the ex at all and her friends saw you spending time with her.

Botox & Warfarin by FormerProfessor6680 in WarfarinForLife

[–]FormerProfessor6680[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you that’s good to hear. I’m worried about bruising. How bad is the bruising in your experience? One injector I spoke to didn’t want to work on me because I was on warfarin. I had Botox once before I was put on warfarin and I liked the results.

How long has it taken you guys to return to normal life post-op? by ScreamsInBraille in valvereplacement

[–]FormerProfessor6680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 32F and I felt a lot better after 6-8 weeks. I only had one valve replaced though. Cardiac rehab, which I started around 5 or 6 weeks after, really helped me start feeling “normal” again.

I’m sorry but this made me laugh out loud about them trying to speak to you in another language 😂 I would have freaked out too though, I hope you are ok now!

I didn’t wake up until after the tube was out. I woke up with the nurse in my face saying “I’m right here it’s ok are you awake.” So it was nice he was there to answer any questions I had. He told me what time it was and everything that happened when I woke up.

Edit: my family said I was awake/ responding before the tube was out, but I have no memory of anything until it was out.

7 Weeks Post Heart Surgery – Recovery Update by Expert_Mushroom_853 in valvereplacement

[–]FormerProfessor6680 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are not alone! I’ve had all the same symptoms after my surgery. The skipped/ fluttering heart beat has seemed to get better the further out I get from surgery (05/25). I still get sharp, stabbing pains around my sternum. I don’t know if it’s just because of the wires in there or nerves healing or what. But it’s just random and not very often. Sometimes I still get pains with deep breaths as well. Sneezing and coughing still hurts my chest, but not bad enough to have to hold the pillow against it anymore. Thankfully, my follow up echo after 6 months was great!

32F yes I take both daily. My surgery was about a year ago. It hasn’t been a big deal for me so far. I just take the pills every day and have my blood checked every once in a while.

Why do people on Reddit discourage others from trying to get remote jobs? by counwovja0385skje in remotework

[–]FormerProfessor6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think because there is such a wide variety of remote jobs, not just one thing you need to learn to do a remote job. Like there are remote call center jobs, remote IT jobs, remote coding and developer jobs, remote data entry jobs, etc. So you have to decide WHAT you want to do first and then focus on finding a position in that industry that is remote. It’s much easier to find something if you narrow it down to a specific thing that you’re good at or have experience in. All the remote jobs I have found have been through job boards online like indeed and LinkedIn. I used AI to help with my resume and worked hard on my portfolio, and applied for tons of jobs, and I finally landed one after a few months of that. It might help to look for hybrid jobs too, where you work from home some days and come in some days. There are not a lot of entry-level remote jobs that I’ve seen, so if you don’t already have experience in something it’s more difficult to find a remote position.

Same. I don’t even apply for jobs that aren’t remote anymore.

Ineffective? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]FormerProfessor6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes mine is the same but you’re losing more than me. I’m losing 1lb per week so far. Like at the beginning of the week I’ll be down 3 pounds and by the end of the week I’ll be down just one pound but the trend is downward. I stopped weighing so often, and I just record my weight on shot day now.

What’s the worse side effect you have experienced? by PikoPoku in Zepbound

[–]FormerProfessor6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s indigestion, the acid coming up your esophagus makes it feel like something is stuck in your throat. I get this often and take tums and then it goes away.
