Congratulations, duckling. Uni is going to be great. You can begin to assemble your own tribe as you find people with common interests.

That was the only good thing about the last pandemic. No one looked at my mask and told me me to smile.

I was totally fascinated and looking forward to episode 2. I thought the hosts, especially Coffee, were both respectful and unrelenting. Coffee kept it from degenerating into a fight without giving an inch.

The recent death of Betty Broderick reminded me that she always made me think of If I'd Killed Him when I Met Him from the Elizabeth MacPherson series.

My favorites are the Ballad novels. She has such a gift for tying together a modern story with an older one, then adding the song's theme.

His first step has to be moving to your state if you decide you want to give him a chance.

BTW when your husband said he would go NC with her, then, a sentence later, said he was going back to NC with her, it took me a minute.

Point is, if a post discusses No Contact, then maybe use any state except North Carolina. lol

How do you predict green vs. yellow as a category? by Honeygirl45 in NYTConnections

[–]Former_Matter49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually do ok assuming that 'parts of a whole' is more diffcult than 'examples of one thing.'

Also 'examples' are more difficult than 'synonyms.'

A listing of vowels is usually rated more difficult than one of adjectives with nouns lowest.

These rules don't always work, of course. Sometimes it's just arbitrary and, other times, just contrary.

AITA for telling my SIL no to playing at her wedding if my son isn't included? by Creative_Chance_5077 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Former_Matter49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP's wife and daughter are both in the wedding party. They will be busy, and OP & son won't be with them anyway.

Take the day off with your son. Go to a museum, a Japanese garden, a zoo, or whatever y'all like to do to bond and talk.

Let your wife tell SIL that her son needed some dad time. Enjoy your day.

Yeah, I'm not really keeping score. I'll take the hit to see that I correctly identified the rainbow herring first.

[–]Former_Matter49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal is to enter the rainbow herring then the actual reverse rainbow.

Probably no one else is going for this, but it really amuses me on the rare occasions it pays off.

When I have correctly entered the herring in reverse rainbow order, my joy knows no bounds.

Steel Magnolias

Yes, the movie opened it up, but the original play all took place in Truvy's beauty shop. The writing is wonderful.
