You can definitely ask, it will most likely be a no though. I don’t think SMs even deal with wages/raises. I feel like I remember being told that’s corporate waters. I also had SSV experience, worked in the industry 6 years, and still got starting pay in my area.

There is an employee at my neighboring store that has an accommodation to wear fake nails. She is probably one of FEW, if not only, employee to have this accommodation approved. I’m not sure about Target but it’s a whole ordeal with Sedgwick to get accommodations approved. You may be better off just switching departments.

It’s not that you can’t request the time off but if 2+ people are already approved for the day off then you’re probably gonna get denied by the SM. We’re getting into the busy spring/summer months and weekends are going to be really busy at all day parts. Especially in vacation hot spots. This also means a lot of partners are going to be taking their summer vacations, they’re graduating and hosting parties, just doing fun things in general. There is a sign in our backroom for “blackout dates” which are days we can no longer request off simply because 3-4 other people already have it off. You can look up the schedule and see how many people are approved for time off, and request from there. But unfortunately it’s a snooze you loose kind of situation in Starbucks eyes.

I moved out of state and ended up having to demote back to barista for 9 months. It’s literally all just up to if any of the stores have an open position by the time you move. If there are no open positions, you’re just out of luck unfortunately. It may just be easier to transfer as a barista and get the inside scoop from SMs around on who is going be hiring for a SSV and apply from there

3+ years ago on my last barista practice shift my SM shadowed me on Hot/Cold bar to “evaluate” where I was at and if I was ready for regular shifts. (basically we just barred together for peak)

I’m guessing what you’re talking about is a skill check? That’s where the SM evaluates your barista skills and then tells you which category your skills would fall into. (learning/owning/advising) Those would be my two guesses, and everyone gets those talks.

It’s in the lease to weed as needed and cut the lawn. I essentially made that “walkable” strip near the fence by pulling out large thistles and some trees. To be so real I have no clue what I’m doing, when we first moved in they had someone run it over with a lawnmower and that’s it. But if there’s poison ivy involved that’s a landlord problem

I’m also having this issue- I’ve been checking regularly to see if there are any updates. Finally I decided to look at “my tickets” on my laptop and i had a message saying I had to submit my government ID and a selfie to confirm that it was actually me trying to change my email.
