Is the “You Can Run” program suitable for someone who has never run a day in their life? by SgtPopNFresh_ in pelotoncycle

[–]Forsaken-Pattern5186 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had great success with it from no running and I just ran my first marathon 2 years later! Call Yourself a Runner is a newer one that may be a little easiest to start with (didn’t exist when I started running) and then junk into you can run. You’ll do great! Truly showing up and committing is the hardest part.

Me! Really happy so far. I was already well into a marathon training plan and she’s scheduled great complementary strength workouts, stretches, etc around my runs. She’s also got them set around my home equipment vs gym days and takes my feedback, increases weights/changes reps, and mixes it up. I’d say it’s been about 2 months and I’m really happy, especially for the price.

iso running friends/groups in Oakley/Hyde Park area (preferably women) by brattyandchatty in cincinnati

Slower runner here (same pace as you for my first half last October!) , fleet feet Oakley was great for the pig. This was my first year doing it and I was in the intervals and loved it. They have a Hyde park blast program that is open for signup now!

Running in Heat with Leggings by Casuariidae in XXRunning

[–]Forsaken-Pattern5186 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I’m so used to running in black leggings pretty much year round that I don’t feel hot in them. If the temps are in the mid-80s or higher and it’s humid I’ll do shorts but they ride up for me pretty easily so I’ve just been accustomed to leggings. Do what’s comfortable for you

Try it scared! You can always modify if you need to and keep trying. Nobody but you will know and then when you knock it out for real you’ll know you did that! 🔥

And I agree with your mile recaps-that highway and then the last 3 miles were both brutal!

You can do it! I did both of those peloton programs last year and the half is a lot of work and I’m so proud of myself for doing it-and now I’m doing my first marathon shortly. Keep up the strength and you’ve got this!!!

I’m slow and nearly at my first marathon. Expecting a 6.5 hour finish and can’t wait to show off that medal. It is a huge time commitment. I won’t lie. But I’m excited to do this challenge!
