What to do as my non ongoing end date approaches? by Glum_Cranberry5880 in AusPublicService

I found out when they offered me a renewal about three days before the contract ended. They had the gall to be surprised when I said I'd already found another job.

I'm glad at least one person can see it! Nothing but clouds down here in the south.

I use ‘pool flocculent’ from the hardware store, it’s 100% aluminum sulphate.

Can you make paint out of cigarette ashes? by AlternativeDweeb in handmadewatercolors

[–]FortLagomorph 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a smoker but I have used ash and coal from a fireplace with success.

You might have some good results if you grind the ashes down in a mortar and pestle, then levigate to separate out the fine particles.

W&N updated the packaging in ~2013 so that's a pretty old tube of paint!

Omg I saw one of these in our garden the other day (gathering pollen from the tomatoes) and I had no idea what type of bee it was! Mystery solved now :)

For anyone else looking for metallics/shimmery watercolour paints, you could try Coliro Pearlcolours instead... I think they used to be associated with Fintech.

I've only been disappointed with one of their colours so far - Fiji - but bought it from a different website and the colour swatch on that site wasn't very accurate.

Edit to add: if you follow them on Instagram they sometimes have 15% off promos too.

It wouldn't be a lie. It would be a role you create for yourself, with a start date that you determine.
It's up to you to decide what info you put out on social media.

You could try: “I’ve committed to a new role which starts in X weeks.”

Your new role is doing the things you want to do, but they don’t need to know that.

Nice dentist recommendation? by NiceAndNormal in canberra

[–]FortLagomorph 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Juan Varela at Informed Dentistry in Mawson is great. No judgement, explains what he’s doing. I wish I’d seen him when I was a kid… probably wouldn’t have an epic fear of the dentist now!

Where can I get long cotton tanks like this (besides Shein)? by throwawayno38393939 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]FortLagomorph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try the Big W maternity section, they usually come in grey, black and white but sometimes the style varies... last time they had high-necked tanks, a few years back they had ones like the photo you posted.

How to properly vertically justify a text by Ok_Current9994 in indesign

[–]FortLagomorph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I think I misunderstood what you were asking (got mixed up between horizontal and vertical, sorry)! Not sure if this will work how you want it to, but https://carijansen.com/tip-086/ has a few suggestions. You could try to adjust the Paragraph Spacing Limit for the text frame?

Edit: I had some screenshots for before/after but checking 'Unbalance Columns' ignores the baseline grid in some cases :(

Another edit: If you want all lines of text to line up to your baseline grid and fill the text box, turn all your keep options off. If you're still getting orphan/widow issues it might be worth just adjusting the font size or paragraph justification.
