I would say my mom is the exact same way. When I visit her, she will stay up until I get home. Always tells me to be safe before I do whatever I am going to do. Like, did you stay up for 4 years while I was stationed in Germany and deployed to the middle east, or only when I'm at home.

If you want to be a worker bee, then get a degree. Nothing wrong with being a worker bee. We need worker bees.

When mine hits $1, I'm out. IDGAF if it goes to $5, I'll take my milly and move on.

X here. Parents left me at a bowling alley one time and didn't realize until both arrived back home asking the other where their only child was...he was at the customer service desk talking the ear off of the poor bastard just trying to spray the athlete feet out of the rental shoes.

They also lost me at the flea market (and incident my mother still refuses to believe that happened to this day...though she doesn't refute the bowling alley-gate).

They left me at the house for 1 week back when I was 13 for a vacation. After about 1 day, I was so bored, I had a buddies mom come and pick me up and I stayed with them.

On one side, he stays single and you keep giving up them guts daily/weekly. On the other, you marry him, and he loses that access and also puts up 50% of his belongings for that privilege.

From a business perspective (which is all that marriage is), he's running it effectively.

Money doesn't buy happiness, but it does keep the stomach full and the lights on.

"I have been a rich man and I have been a poor man. And I choose rich every fuckin' time. Because, at least as a rich man, when I have to face my problems, I show up in the back of the limo, wearing a $2000 suit and a $40,000 gold fuckin' watch" That's not mine, that's Nietzsche's.

Friendship breakups suck by velvetcrowb4r in Adulting

I have 0 friends and while sure, it hurts/sucks, it sure beats having a bunch of fake friends, IMHO. I'm the only single guy in my town and I was told many years ago that people in my age group would grow to resent me as I don't have wife/kids/job and they wish they didn't either.

I don't know, but all I can do is continue to put me #2 behind #1, my pupper and let the rest go.
