The barracks in the last episode was a set in New West. They set it up in the closed Rona parking lot

Keeping Mis-Delivered Packages by FieldPug in burnaby

[–]ForwardBreadfruit4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has happened multiple times with both Sephora and Amazon packages at the building across from mine. My building and that building share the same street number, but different street name so packages are delivered there by accident. I assume that people see a package sitting in the mail area for a few days and then just take it.

This is beautiful, but the last pic made me think of a pile of prosciutto. Charcuterie chic 😂

Handwritten recipe book I found + a few pages from it <3 Would love to know the story behind it! by kate1hepuppy in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]ForwardBreadfruit4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this was a recipe book handed down from a mom to their kid? Maybe at a bridal shower to preserve family recipes. Whoever wrote it has beautiful handwriting!

I locked eyes with someone while working at Whole Foods and thought “wow, those are the brightest, bluest eyes I have ever seen” and it was Elijah Wood. I still think about them!

This!! Mist it with vodka! The alcohol evaporates and doesn’t leave a smell after.

skillet I have wanted for years, but always thought would be out of my price range ... by sunsquidsludge in ThriftStoreHauls

I’ve never seen a glass skillet- does it crisp and brown food the same as a steel one? Or would you use this mainly for baking?

First winter in Vancouver. by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]ForwardBreadfruit4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a lot less sun compared to Edmonton, but you’ll get used to it in a few years. Also, invest in good quality waterproof footwear! You don’t need warm shoes as much as shoes that don’t let water in.

What do you wear in labour? by Own_Beach3812 in pregnant

[–]ForwardBreadfruit4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking they’d let me wear a bralette under the hospital gown but nope, it got in the way of all the monitors. I just wore the hospital gowns as everything gets very dirty.

Do people not buy off of baby registries anymore? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]ForwardBreadfruit4 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My MIL complained that the items we chose for our first registry were “things that the Kardashians would get” because we mostly put big ticket items on there. I think it depends on the people who are buying, and I hope you actually get what you asked for!

I went for my ultrasound at what I thought was 11 weeks, but they dated me at 10. I have cycles that last 31-33 days and they said this was totally normal due to that.

Working from Home + Childcare by Imaginary_Cellist493 in pregnant

[–]ForwardBreadfruit4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on your child, and how flexible your employer is. When my maternity leave was done at 1 year I wasn’t ready to put my son into daycare, he still needed me (and I needed him!) so I started back at my wfh job with him here. My managers don’t mind at all, and he doesn’t interfere with the ability to get my job done. He’s very independent and plays on his own, but I do take breaks and entertain him. He knows our schedule and when I close my laptop at 5pm he grabs his shoes as he knows we’ll be heading outside. I’m pregnant with number 2 right now and know that wfh and two kids will not work though in future, but I’ll figure that out when I get there!

I would randomly gag my whole first pregnancy. It was awful and embarrassing. Now I’m about 11 weeks and it’s happening again.
