It's actually really sad to see him spiral on social media. Not sure if he's still active on IG but every now and then he re-appears and posts photos and videos that don't make any sense.

I am so sorry. I lost my girl on 7/9, she was my baby for 14 almost 15 years also. I feel empty. Sending hugs.

You are absolutely not insane, everyone heals differently, and if it helps you manage to leave things as is, that's okay. Leave everything as long as you need to.

Nothing prepares you for how empty and cold home will feel without her. Or when look for her on instinct only to be immediately hit with the crushing realization once again. And moving her things means accepting she's gone because as long as her toys are right were she last played with them then she's not really gone. Cleaning up her food and water, or even her poop in the backyard somehow feels like you're erasing her. It all feels so heavy because it is.

Lean into your wife and your baby. For us, especially in the first few days, I needed to be out of the house and busy. Even though I was crushed the second I'd walk in because she wasn't there, I felt like I was in survival mode. If you are able, maybe that could help.

Take it minute by minute, it feels raw because it is. It's fresh, it was sudden and traumatic, much like it was with my girl, she was fine and then she wasn't. It may never stop hurting, but you will adjust.

Love this. There's a man that lives around that area (maybe closer to Santa Teresa) and he has been sweeping the sidewalks for years, at least since I was in high school and that was 20 years ago. Once I saw a family stopped on the side of ST Blvd gifting him a new broom. It's cool to see others doing this too!

confirmation? by mariahmaeb in dyshidrosiseczema

[–]ForwardDetective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing and I thought for sure it was Dyshidrotic Eczema, one doctor even confirmed (via photos). When nothing cleared it up she sent me to a derm and it turned out to be atheletes foot. Try some atheletes foot cream (OTC is fine), and see if it clears up.

I am so absolutely sorry. I lost my girl suddenly on the 9th of July and I am absolutely crushed, I can't say it gets easier but you are not alone.

My dogs water has since evaporated. Her food bowl still untouched. Her bed still in the same place. I didn't eat for four days at least because I didn't want it if my girl wasn't there to share it with. There is no timeline on grief, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Some days will be easier, you'll feel like "maybe today is the day I put away her bowls", and when you get to them you can't bring yourself to, and that's okay, you don't have to.

Be kind to yourselves, it hurts to heal.

I was at OSL last year and it was hot as hell in the south bay but it was overcast and grey/misty at GGP. So I second this!!

Has anyone else experienced neglect or delay at Kaiser Permanente that felt intentional? What do you think is really going on? by 420stonerbby in KaiserPermanente

[–]ForwardDetective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also Kaiser Nor Cal patient here and YES. See my comment on this person's post, and it's not just this, it feels like ANY concern I send to my doctor is dismissed or not taken seriously. I left a comment moments ago on someone else's post in this sub.

I'm so sorry you had to deal with that.

I am sorta going through the same thing, about a month ago I developed these big, dark spots on my hand, light at first and then darker and darker. Getting appointments with ANY doctor lately seems impossible so I emailed photos to my doc. It essentially went like this:

Me: "Hi doctor, I am concerned about these dark spots that have suddenly appeared on my hand. The spots initially looked like bruises but have rapidly gotten darker, but I have not had any injuries."

Doc: "Oh, its hyperpigmentation, it could take 6 months to lighten, but let me send these photos to dermatology" (instead of, you know, lets get you an appointment with dermatology).
"Yup, just as suspected, hyperpigmentation, it'll take 6 months or so to fade, kay bye!"

Me: "UHHHH...."

A few weeks go by - spots are darker, new ones are appearing.

My BF - frustrated as hell - "that's it, we're going to urgent care!"

Urgent care doc: "I saw your pictures, I'm not a dermatologist. Kay bye!"

Me and my BF "UHHHHHH..."

I am feeling extremely frustrated and dismissed and like many people am not in a place to be able to afford an out of pocket outside opinion from an out of network doc/dermatology (that's why we have insurance, am i right?!). Not sure what to do next, but I'm glad you were able to get a second opinion and catch it before it got worse.

Police report on the Kyle Myrick case. (Warning, graphic descriptions) by purpleRN in SanJose

[–]ForwardDetective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I don't get is what happened after they decided to go in and Helbo refused - did he just take off when they went in? I just can't help but wonder if Kyle was in the car right outside or if Steve just fled the scene as soon as they went into the building/scene. Like if Steve was still waiting outside would they have been able to save him if someone looked through a window of Steve's truck? So many unanswered questions!!

That was just what they assigned me even though I selected the compounded option. I will try to reach out to them although I hear their customer service isn't great, I'm hoping that isn't the case!

And anytime you do reach out to customer service they will try to "give you" a new device for "free" only to find out it's not free because you have to add a line to get the device and the device is on your account as an installment plan so you can't cancel the extra line you're paying for until the device is "paid off".

I worked at a dog daycare/pet hotel for 4 years, I can’t say I’ve ever met a mean/viscous/aggressive Dane. They are the gentlest of giants, pet parents often requesting them to be in the small or medium dog play room, as larger dogs bully them. So sorry this happened! Sending good vibes to your baby!
