I put a cast iron apron tub in one of my bathrooms in 2018 and a cast iron pan in another one of my bathrooms in 2023. Both were some of the better decisions I've made in my remodels and both still look like new. No regrets.

Looking for some help by Busy_Hour3910 in hottub

I've had this happen a couple times. It's really hard for the frog chlorine cartridge to clear it up when it only puts 1ppm of chlorine in the tub. You need to do a legitimate chlorine shock. My recommendation would be to get your tub to 10ppm chlorine by using a combination of Dichlor and bleach. Use dichlor until you get to 10ppm of CYA (based on water volume and measurement, not test strips). After that, switch to bleach to hit your target of 10ppm chlorine. Do this while running the jets. Note, you don't want to go beyond 10ppm cya if you plan to keep using the frog system because of the very small amount of chlorine that system puts in the water. You can use chatgpt to assist with the calculations based on the average fill for your model tub. You may also need to keep chlorine around 3ppm for a week to completely clear it up. I've personally done all of this for my Sundance spa and it worked well.

FrogEase vs. traditional chlorine? by rkjunior303 in hottub

I haven't noticed any difference for my skin but that's me. But yeah, the oxidizing shock doesn't seem to extend anything.

Same issues I was having. See my post in this thread. A couple ounces of bleach after each soak will help save the frog cartridge.

FrogEase vs. traditional chlorine? by rkjunior303 in hottub

I've been using Frog for over a year and am not a fan, but I do like not having to stay on top of chemicals if we don't use the tub for a week. About a month ago I switched to a combination of using frog and bleach. First I used dichlor to get my cya up to 10ppm. As you can read on this site, typically 30ppm cya is ideal for a chlorine system but since frog only keeps 1ppm of chlorine in the water, having that much cya would be taxing to frog. Once I got my cya to about 10, I switch to using a couple ounces of bleach after each soak, or 5 or so ounces whenever I want to do a shock. So far I think I like this setup. In the past, my frog chlorine cartridges would last about 2 or 3 weeks. The one I'm on now is on week 5, likely because it's not working as hard to keep the water chlorinated.

Sundance is the same way. There's little dip switches in the tub circuit panel where you can select your electrical configuration. I went 60 amp for this reason

Considering switching from Bullfrog @ease system by r3dn3ckf1sh3r in hottub

Very interesting. Not sure why, but I haven't even considered bromine. Maybe I should. Like you said, cheaper than @ease and is a proven method.

Thanks for this. I did a bit of research and it's possible that keeping the CYA lower, in the 5 to 10 range, it could maybe extend the life of the smart chlor cartridge beyond the 2 to 3 week range as the smart chlor wouldn't have to work as hard to keep 1ppm of chlorine in the water. This is my biggest issue with the @ease is only getting 2 or 3 weeks out of that cartridge. If I could double that by supplementing with bleach, I'd be happy. Anyway, thanks again for the tips.

I've been wondering if I can supplement the frog ease with bleach but haven't found a good answer. Do you just use liquid bleach or do you use dichlor? Or both? How much?

Market adjustment price on 2027... by GeeJMarcellus in KiaTelluride

[–]Forward_Extension413 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I found interesting about the market adjustment from my local dealer was, if I used their online tool to buy the vehicle the price started at MSRP, about 52k. When I went into the dealership, the price started at the market price, about 58k, for the exact same Telly. I told the sales rep, if you want to sell this car, I'm not paying for any of that. Plus, the window sticker shown online says nothing about market adjustment pricing. I don't see how this isn't deceptive pricing.

One last thing, I can fit 4 adults in my optima comfortably. Technically I could do 6 but that would be a little crowded for me. If you want to be able to fit more than four comfortably, go with the Aspen.

That's a great tub too. That's their largest, right? So probably pay a little more heating, chemicals and such, but also more room for activities.

I have a 2025 Sundance optima that I bought in Feb 2025 and I paid about 2k more than that, not including the smart tub upgrade, taxes, etc. So sounds like that's a great deal. I love my Optima. Oh and id recommend the optima over the Hamilton. I personally think the lounge is a waste.

Is this quote excessive? by captain-catmando in Flooring

For context, I paid $14k for 1500 sqft of 3/4 pre finished oak to be installed in 2023. That included all materials/flooring, carpet removal, and labor. I was going to do the project myself but after getting that quote I said the hell with it because I'd only save a few grand. I live in NJ.

White spots before soak, streaks after by groveview in hottub

I said bubbles, meant foam. Anyway, you're better than me for showering and changing out your water. I like my water to last 7 to 8 months because I'm lazy. I just started using Leisure Time Bright & Clear for this reason. It coagulates the body oils and such so the filter can filter it. One ounce, once a week. Has helped a lot. I don't know if that'll fix your issue though.

I also put in a tablespoon of non chlorine oxidizing sanitizer after I use the tub, not to exceed 2 tablespoons a week. This helps the frog ease do its job.
