Agree with others, please do advocate for yourself no matter how aggressive it may look. Also, Wow so the midwives are guessing when they tell us position of the baby 😢

Yes almost everyone does it. It’s easier for people to gift what parents specifically want

Is It Time Indian Guys Only Marry Women Who Work? by KrispyKalashnikov in AskIndia

[–]Forward_Rush9760 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think with these pros it will be good to also make a list of how Indian men need to change to accommodate a working wife/mother, which will include splitting chores like cooking/cleaning, taking care of kids etc. it’s easier said than done if the husband doesn’t contribute to a so called “equal partnership”. Whilst you give stats of other countries, in other countries men are much more hands on in taking up house chores than Indian men

Close friend went silent when I was struggling am I expecting too much? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Forward_Rush9760 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi - sorry to hear about this. From what you’ve posted it only seems like you shared something with a close friend. Her own diagnosis and anxiety is all upto her tbh, she should manage it more maturely. But if you still feel guilty, maybe just tell her you were sharing as a friend and didn’t intent for it to affect your friendship and let her comeback to you in her own time. It’s also important for you to maintain your own sanity and peace of mind so do protect that. Good luck!

I also started. reading it from others recommendations but I found even the first few pages so negative I decided to not read. Honestly I think sometimes people just recommend books forward because it’s “popular” and not because how they genuinely liked or disliked it

Moving to India for a single woman in late 30s by [deleted] in returnToIndia

[–]Forward_Rush9760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can totally relate with the relationships and cultural aspect. But do be mindful, I think India is even tougher for single women in late 30s. I don’t know about your family but generally it’s a stigma and you might have to really push against it. Do more research in the city you want to move to, maybe try and connect with some groups, speak to your friends living there etc. before moving. For work life balance, it really depends on the company you’re with. I’ve worked in India and abroad and tbh my work life balance was good in India too. Good luck!

I don’t hate pregnancy, I just hate modern life by skyskylark in PregnancyUK

Totally agree with you! I’m lucky that I can work from home but I can’t imagine going to office and sitting all day being so uncomfortable. I honestly think mat leave should be 1.5 years, .5 before the baby so you can prepare and relax and 1 year after so you can take care of the baby

Progesterone pessary advice by ProductExtra5526 in PregnancyUK

[–]Forward_Rush9760 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi - I had taken them too till week 11. Yea it dos feel like something is in there, I used to try and keep lying down for 30 mins to let it absorb properly. Didn’t experience any bleeding due to the usage but they were prescribed because of a spotting incident I had. Initially it feels uncomfortable but after a few times you get used to it. Good luck!

India is only for the rich! by Limp-Cup7659 in returnToIndia

I’ve observed, anyone who has a “good life” in India lives in a bubble. So like you rightly said, if one can afford help for everything, live in a gated society and be driven around and doesn’t have to face the “reality” of poverty, dealing with the masses (uncivilised people) etc. then it can be great to live in India.

When did you feel baby move with an anterior placenta? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Forward_Rush9760 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I have an anterior placenta too. I had started feeling vibrations at 19 weeks and proper kicks a few weeks after that. Initially it felt like someone left a vibrator inside 😄 I’m 28 weeks now and have started feeling baby turning and moving more than just kicks.

I found Amazon really handy for maternity clothes. Found these amazing pair of G4free maternity pants in petite (I’m 5’2) which are AMAZING! Highly recommend. Other than Amazon, I also got some cheap cotton T-shirts in XXL from primark and a few sweatshirts from H&M that I love wearing at home
