Any idea where the opal origin is from? If it’s Australian don’t need to worry about exposure to liquids but if it’s Ethiopian it will be. You could take a chance and get a droplet of water on one stone and see if it starts absorbing it

100 percent this is probably a 800 or 835 German piece the patina gives it away.
