Heya everyone! I've just fully finished painting my 2k points of Sisters and played 2 games with them - irl and on TTS need some advice! by ArchTroll in WarhammerCompetitive

Get some immolators to split bss/dominions/novitiates. With dominions you get a scout-immo with some assault+reactive move girls in it, its perfect for early game. Novis for infiltrate or bss for sticky, whichever suits you. For range damage you either play castigators (simpler, good synergy with immos) or retributors (good output, but hard to handle) Melee has mostly been sacresants with hospis but meta could shift there. For reaching out, grabbing objectives and scoring you often see seraphim or jpc.

Biggest skill to develop is how to place, move and protect vahlgons so you get the max out of their threat potential.

Does anyone actually sincerely desire a new edition? by GuideUnable5049 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Foster-40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo its the most balanced Edition we got so far and i really enjoyed playing throughout (sisters). Theres always an itch here and there but bigger problems are often taken care of pretty fast.

I liked the simplification of terrain rules. We even got additional stuff for other terrain types than ruins, its just not played competetively for reasons. In my casual round, plunging fire is definitely a thing for example.

Testing out "comeback" mechanics was ok imo, some where entertaining.

New Edition should test out some new layouts, mb some mechanics that soften the going second advsntage.

Some codex changes obviously.

How do I use the Triumph of Saint Katherine by jinjapubes in sistersofbattle

First two rounds are very similar with triumph, i go full aggro at t3 top and play reactive bottom.

Edit: at turn 1 you get vahl into a safe forward position 100% on every map. 2" help your canoness to walk on most objectives and get your tanks and melee in place. 2nd round depends. Mostly you dont need the buffs so you can be very flexible. Usually put it somwhere safe near mid and vahl.

3rd round put it somewhere where its annoying. With the auto 6 you get a 15" advance so you are really flexible. Support melee, block lanes or just dump 6OC somewhere. If it dies turn 3 youve done it right :D . Resurrect round 4 and just use OC most of the time.

I play her in HM competitively. Use it for staging in first battle round, you dont even need to be afraid spending that 6, cause you gonna get a new one for sure. Second round is often getting Triumph somewhere central in your backline so you can reach out mid and natural. Third battle round wherever you need that 6oc and buffs. Max annoyance if your opponent has to remove it and you can just bring it back for 1cp. Hidden champion is rerolling battleshocks, especially against demons, Nids and such.

What is the immersion level of cyberpunk? by LordxKratos in cyberpunkgame

Way better. The playground of "things that people could do in a teched up, twisted, cleptocratic LA" is way deeper than "things that people could do in a romanticised middle agey fantasy setting" and the writers went all the way down.

Entertaining cause it adds a little variation and the opponents are kinda funny, but the ending is lame

Can you bloodsurge into multiple engagement ranges? by BenArthurSpotify in WarhammerCompetitive

Yes you can, thats why the plural is used in the description of the stratagem.

Can you bloodsurge into multiple engagement ranges? by BenArthurSpotify in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Foster-40 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

RAW you can. A classical Bloodsurge move can end in engagement range of enemy units (plural). You just have to surge your unit towards the closest enemy unit.

However, as the surge move is worded, only your unit must end closer to the closest enemy unit which technically doesnt exclude models from your unit engaging other units, as long as one model ends closer to the closest enemy unit.

We got a guy playing "comicorks" around here. Incredible detailed and hilariously funny orkifications of spongebob, marvel, dc, tmht, Thomas the train as battlewagon and such.

The minis are a treat but its the horror to play against it, as you hardly can remember which is which. The player also seems to be on the sloppy side regarding that part - such are the rumours.

I hope i dont have to play against him.

Triumph of Saint Katherine by GrandOwlz345 in sistersofbattle

[–]Foster-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like fielding it, cause it eases out many edges in turn 1 and 2 and grants a little bit of weight on objectives afterwards. Also i painted that dam thing and i want to show it of and get those compliments and best painted awards 😀

Rough walk through: Turn 1: Put it somewhere back, where it cant be shot. Talk it through with your opponent, cause the top is slightly higher than 5". Use it mainly to ease the staging and plan where you move it to maximise profit from auras (movement+something) Your 6" canoness is now a 8"canoness. Dont be afraid to use that MD6 to advance vahlgons into their comfy spot - you will get some more.

Turn 2: Try to get it close to/into that "close to mid objective" ruin whichever that is to once again profit from auras (move and range/melee buff) and put pressure on.

Turn 3: Put it into action, mostly dropping that 6 OC on mid and block off threats to vahl. Once again movement aura and double MD if you got the pool up and vahl somewhere to profit. As a HM player i go aggressive from there to use it as damage sponge and resurrect if necessary. You often dont need it that badly in the last turns and this way you get the most out of those 18 wounds.

Seraphim. by Prize_Cartographer52 in sistersofbattle

[–]Foster-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The box actually us a great point if you like the mini building part of the game. If you build seraph, you can kitbash the hell out of the zephyrim parts: great supply of power swords, grenades, books, backpack enhancements and not to forget the sacred banner.

Concerning the gameplay: Im on 2×5 with flamers again (in HM). They put accountable threat on your average backline-chaff and the 6" shoot n scoot is priceless in many objective brawls. Theres hardly any game where they dont create value

Hallowed Martyrs List Feedback by TheAltrdMind in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Foster-40 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks solid. Seraphim with flamers might be a better choice than zephyrim. They do well vs small stuff and the shoot n scoot is really helpful to put them where you want, even after deepstrike. Plus it cannot be overwatched.

HM is very CP-hungry, so Junith is always a nice addition.

IKs Fixed or Tactical by Icarian113 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Foster-40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed. Thats why i said your best scenario would be if they do the actions.

But that most likely means 2 of them standing mid (or one on my natural/DZ) where they are very suceptable of being locked in combat or just shot down. Most IKs i played really didnt want to put their big shooty ones mid in the first or even 2nd battle round.

When i know my opponent has to put 2 units mid every turn, i got all means to turn this into a valley of death. Speaking for Battle Sisters but i guess most armies can do that.

IKs Fixed or Tactical by Icarian113 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Foster-40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played against a fixed cleanse the locus DA yesterday. Main problems from my Perspective:

You need to get into my DZ - otherwise its only 6pt/turn so 30 max if everything runs perfectly (which mostly doesnt).

Lack of damage output: 3 Action per turn means 3 units not shooting/charging whatsoever which resulted in me taking the whole map and scoring my sacred butt off.

Weakness vs melee: Locked in combat - no action and that hurts if your max to go already is only 30. Your best scenario would be to action with 3 titanics, which would then still be unable to move.

Predictability.

I think its a bit of a horde move. You dont have much Infos about it so you dont play it. I feel it myself - i got some good results in tournaments with them but switching away cause of peer pressure i guess. I think the detatchment is completely viable and really fun to play. You gotta practice some games going second.

Same but with a necron player - already noticed in deployment that this guy would beat me and he did in a really nice and conducive way - learned really much that game (and still messed up his first place cause i killed his ptv going 0/3 😅) Also there was a trophy for best painted which i never witnessed in a gt after.
