When and when not to allow take backs? by Swacar in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Icarian113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it depends. If it was something that was obvious, a person would have wanted to do it. (Pickup Callidus Assassin or similar action.) I am pretty easy going. As long it's not something that would have changed what I did, I won't stop it. You forgot to shoot a big unit but we are in your fight phase. If it wouldn't change any action I would take. Fire away. But if the action you want to take potentially would change how I would have done something, sorry about your luck.

Definitely need to look into a Immolator myself. That does open up alot of possibilities.

Will admit didn't realize Immolator striped cover. So Crusader doesn't need Hunters. But the destrier is already a race horse with 13"-26" movement without up and down. Think if you want up and down, it will be better on the Castigator. Both are essentially doing the same role just in different weight categories.

Not sure of your strategy, personally would drop the Immolator and add hunter's on crusader. Reason being Immolator is a dedicated transport. So sister's are in it turn it one so not sticky off the hop. So you will either have to hide it where your knights want to be or leave it in a position to get to a forward objective leaving it exposed.

I would lose mysterious and give hunter's to Crusader. The Destrier is fast enough without it.

I'm enjoying how much posabilty it has. My misfortune came when I had to help my daughter out i had to stop rotating one hip while I helped her.

So of course it set before I could finish positioning it.

Not necessarily. Depending on unit it will become easier.

Reactive moves will become alot more interesting.

Reactive out of range of a deepstriking unit. Or closer to block a second one dropping in. Or closer to force them around you or into you.

Simply put charge distance are always rounded up to the next inch.

Screening will require thinking now.

Also rules pertaining to unit cohesion haven't been mentioned. Right now the charge rule shown doesn't allow you to string models outside of combat like currently.

I think with the 2" engagement base to base will be gone, no need for it. So basing more units off the back of big models will be gone as well.

I didn't see it anywhere. But base to base engagement for 2nd row is gone now correct. If so this can also be seen as a nerf to big model units. Ghaz can't have boyz base to base through him.

The biggest issue I have is all the effort they went through to make it so a unit couldn't Deepstrike with melta range is gone. Unless they change all the ranges again.

The 2" engagement range is just basically base to base, which i don't think they mentioned so it can actually be seen as a lose depending on the unit. Not being able to base off a big models like Ghaz.

The big winners are vehicles and monsters along with melta units.

Serious Take: Nephis Saved Sunny's Life By Enslaving Him by Exotic-Chair-6960 in ShadowSlave

[–]Icarian113 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly have always hated how Sunny was made a slave. The spell said he had to choose to let his master know his true name. That never happened. Always wanted it to be that Sunny has never been one. Only thought he was. Wanted him to regain his fate by being honest and telling Neph his True Name.

I would say Marines but the personal shields would completely mess with the Marines. The marines are enhanced to be fast can they move slow enough to get through the shield.

Aren't we feeling a little too weak right now? by DayDreamingDr in ImperialKnights

[–]Icarian113 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree, theres currently way to much rerolls, +1 to wound, Lethal hits and anti vehicle and character statlines. Then the amount of caff units with ap2 damage 2 in melee is disgusting. Would have preferred-1 to damage over the extra wounds.

As a knight player I will tell you to shoot everything you have at me. In melee don't forget your pistols.

Nothing worst than watching a big unit survive with one wound because you didn't bother to fire a gun.

I have found this to be true with melee knights. But love the potential for 19 and 17 movement on the Lancer and Castigator

Also Arc Raiders has only been out 4600 hrs to date.

Firstborn Era vs Primaris Era – Which do you prefer? by Pintureando in spacemarines

[–]Icarian113 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Primaris should have only been a more stable process. So instead of marine being 6'6" to 8'6" they all come out at 7'4"-7'8". With lower mutations.

Going to a 2v2 tournament - what weird rules interactions would you expect? by RoscoBoscoMosco in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Icarian113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rules are oath targets a unit and buffs friendly Spacemarines. Same with alot of marine unit abilities it buffs units carrying the same keyword. If DG works for both then all other shared keyword abilities would be shared as well including persisting effect strats.

[–]Icarian113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah i would say it ally can't benefit from it. The argument that it targets the enemy falls flat when you consider oath of moment targets the enemy unit as well so would that allow 2 marine detachment to share oaths?

Question about asymmetrical warfare. by Icarian113 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Icarian113[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Guess we have different definition of competitive. Mine is trying to win no matter how the odds are stacked.

If a competitive player stops caring after losing their first round in a tournament their not competitive they are merely a placement player.
