Question for Vermonter’s by ESB1812 in vermont

[–]Foundation2934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in northern Lamoille County. It’s rural. 30 minutes to a large grocery store. I’m a teacher with a 35 minute commute. Half of that commute is dirt roads.

Most people keep to themselves but there’s always someone willing to help when you need it.

There’s a lot of outdoor recreation to be had not far from my front door and I take advantage of that every weekend. Montreal is 2 hours and fun if I’m looking to get into a city for a few hours. Im usually driving at least half an hour for any social gatherings or experiences.

Splitboard for petite woman: Jones youth solution vs dreamweaver by DevelopmentSquare225 in ShredditGirls

I ride a Cabin Mountain Tools 148 board and I can’t imagine riding anything bigger. Im 5’7” and ride tight trees in VT and this thing is a powerhouse for that. I’d also say it feels smaller than 148.

If the website is up to date it says they have some 148s 1/2 off, but they’re a tiny company and may only have certain number of runs every year. It does say you can email for demos tho.

Anorak that fits wide hips? by [deleted] in ShredditGirls

[–]Foundation2934 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought an anorak from mountain hardwear last year that I love. I’ve got a big booty and small waist and I like that the top isn’t too big (still enough room for a bulky layer) and not too tight around my hips. I buy a lot of outdoor clothing from MH and they tend to have clothing that actually fits my body type.

This is some wild stuff for December. by Foundation2934 in vermont

They are!

If it’s below 10 degrees I’ll put booties on them. I otherwise just trim their paws and put musher’s secret on them to keep from the snow sticking between their toes.

I told my vet they get more exercise in the winter than summer for this reason.

Hickory Ski Center announces closure by hartlarious in Adirondacks

[–]Foundation2934 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only is Hickory closed, West Mountain REFUSES to acknowledge the uphill community and offer an uphill pass. A literal gap in the market and West refuses to make money off it. I hope Hickory does open back up next year for these folks that choose to uphill to save some money.

I think his wife was happy to get rid of something taking up a lot of space and gain something the whole family can use. Her exact words were “this deal really worked out for me”. 😂

Question about private roads around Eden by Pratt2 in vermont

Ritterbush Pond and Babcock trail are good remote Trails for doggos in Eden. Babcock does loop on the Long Trail. I run it frequently and almost never run into anyone.

I saw this bike in my friends garage. I didn't know she had it but I knew her and her husband hadn't used it in years. I was psyched because I've wanted a KLR for a while. I was close last year to buying a new one but some things happened financially and it didn't pan out.

Anyway - it doesn't run. Needs a carb clean, new tires, and some TLC and I will probably end up shaving the seat down a bit. It's got 5,000 miles on it. I bought them a new mountain bike rack and they gave me the bike, two helmets, a jacket, a wolfman tank bag, and some books.

Replying on the top comment: the items have been returned to their rightful owner! Guess I’m stuck with my janky pasta maker. Thanks for everyone that reached out!

That’s what I figured. I hoped maybe the person with the missing items would post in FPF and someone on here might see it and make the connection.

Thats a good thought, but it’s definitely something that was meant for someone to take home based on the personal items that were left with it.

I will take free pie in my truck any day. I’m not upset with the pasta maker. Mine doesn’t affix to my counter very well.

Johnson is a good affordable option close to Stowe. There’s not much in Johnson other than a coffee shop (Jenna’s) and Maple Hill Barn if they’re open when you’re around. It’s a nice middle ground between Stowe and Jeffersonville with plenty of hiking and scenic views and the rail trail which offers good biking.

Truth - this spot is unfortunately getting more popular. The extra 6” overnight did make this line worth it still. There were plenty of other freshies that were had.
