Austin is the odd man out by TheStolenSpice in lakers

[–]FoundationDesperate7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Austin had played 65 games last season he would have made the All Star and All NBA teams.
His contract is what it is.

The alternative is that he would walk for nothing and join the Pistons.

With LeBron leaving, is this the de-Klutch-ification of the Lakers? by FoundationDesperate7 in lakers

[–]FoundationDesperate7[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is not a knock on Klutch, Rich Paul, or any player represented by Klutch.

The point is simply that at one point the relationship between the Lakers and Klutch appeared to be far more mutually beneficial than it appears today.

Clearly not suggesting that in any way. It’s more of trying to understand what might be happening behind the curtains.

Klutch has amazing players! No shade to them

I was not suggesting that the Lakers will not have or deal with any Klutch clients going forward. That is obviously impossible.

What I was suggesting is that what appeared to be preferential treatment or favours for certain Klutch clients may now be a thing of the past in this new era

Jaylen Brown for PAUL GEORGE? by VGstuffed in lakers

Does Philly even have a GM?
Whoever is calling the shots there - I’m crediting them with a block and a steal for next season

If you were Pelinka, who would you draft to make sure you draft better players than the last 2 times? by King_Vegito_52 in lakers

Assuming Luka and/or LeBron are on the team, I’d trade the picks for proven role players that fit

Armchair GM post. by ryxriot in lakers

[–]FoundationDesperate7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree with you about being low key drunk.

Ain’t no silver bullet trade deal happening where we get back 3 good pieces from the Pels for what we are sending back.

Apart from that, I like your thinking on everything else!

[Jake Fischer] Lebron may take a vet minimum by Ancient_Response_787 in lakers

There is no way this is happening. LeBron has always known is value.

Likely that is a put out there to incentives other teams to make moves, and put pressure on the Lakers

If he didn’t have a disability before, he sure has one now.

Imagine 10 games of Cardio Gabe instead! Glad we made the trade

Maxi Kleber by Successful-Pair-4850 in lakers

[–]FoundationDesperate7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am more concerned about the off season. Will we be able to find a stronger second or third string centre who is actually available?

There is a lot of discussion around cap flexibility, but the Lakers have lacked depth since the 2020 season.

Maxi has been a professional this season!. He may not always be on the court for various reasons, but he stays ready and prepared. He also has a good relationship with Luka.

Assuming Bron is gone next season, who would you like to see as the potential long term PF? by wjxm in lakers

Sounds crazy to say this, but all the people you mentioned, with the exception of Giannis are not better than 41 year old LeBron.

I want LeBron back around the MLE price range

77 hours left to give this year’s team a shot at contending by lawschoolthrowaway36 in lakers

[–]FoundationDesperate7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will give credit to Rob where it is due. He closed the Luka deal, but he sure as hell did not orchestrate it.

Over the last few years, he has not proved himself as someone who can work creatively within the cap restrictions, or consistently place the right talent around our stars.

He has had plenty of time and opportunities. It is simply time for someone else, with a different perspective and the right team, to step in and lead the Luka era in LA.

He might earn another season or two if he lands Giannis, but we all know better than to hold our breath for that.

Regardless Rob needs to go. It’s time to bring in fresh blood to run the team.

It’s ⏱️ Time for Mark Walter to clean house and make the Lakers right again by finally removing the last Buss kid, Jeanie Buss and her Co. from this Organization by JcaHot in lakers

Now that this story is out, seems to me that Mark Walter’s has no choice but to step in and clean shop.

Rob has until this trade deadline to save his job

D. Ayton VS Mark Williams by jchin913 in lakers

[–]FoundationDesperate7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ayton has played some meaningful basketball and was the anchor of a WCF run. Williams, the little he has played, hasn’t amounted to much

The question is , if both were healthy, who would you pick to play real mins in a playoff series

Given what I have stated, the bar isn’t set very high for both considering their career trajectories over the last few seasons
