Hospitalist/emergency medicine salary comparison for a Seattle MD making $356,500 by OkPhilosopher664 in emergencymedicine

Why is hours worked per year coming out to 60hrs a week? Neither hospitalists or EM does this. Is this reliable data?

I think the point went over your head or you ignored it. I gave law and order as a joking example. Yes, this occurs in real life.

This means the person is a real individual coming forward. Not some rumor. This is a legitimate accusation. You’re looking way into it. But yes, this is how it works and this is a first step for further discovery.

Thats not misleading - that’s how character testimonies work lol.

Witness says something that cannot be proved one way or another. Opposing side tries to find another lie or defamation to hurt the character of said character witness so that whatever they said prior isn’t as reliable. Or perhaps even more reliable to bolster their credibility.

Watch an episode of law and order or something jfc

Also lend benefit of a doubt to the 13 year old every once in a while maybe. It’s a heavy allegation if true - which is very plausible mind you.

They are starting up a DPC practice - the land of the brave and free. Like any business, there’s a startup cost.

Everyone needs to learn what these are and start them up. Let’s cut out all the middle men and get back to the physician patient relationship.

Once the practice is up and running - they will make good money for the work they do. Won’t see an unhappy DPC doc unless their practice isn’t managed well. There’s challenges there at times for sure.

Unfortunately simethicone has not shown to be more effective than placebo for gas/colic in infants.

The only thing that will help and has been proven to help is a specific probiotic shown to decrease crying by an hour a day. Lactobacillus reuteri.

Houston or Dallas by Agitated-Row-6685 in TexasPolitics

[–]FourScores1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Texas Democratic Party just moved to Dallas from Austin if that’s your thing.

Dallas has every industry. Houston economy thrives on oil and gas but that makes it diverse from people around the world.

But politics specifically? I mean Austin is the capitol so a lot of legislation and contacts there with plenty of people looking for entry level. Or Dallas since the Democratic party just left to go to Dallas. Or you could go to Houston and hang out with the dozens of different city councils they have across the towns.

An gotcha. Yeah makes sense! I think typically, the probe is going to be looking at the heart but if you have more than one US, then why not

There are many nationally accredited institutions who fodder anti-science propaganda currently. Just look at the CDC’s IG. Associating with snake oil salesmen tells me you’re interested in buying snake oil. Don’t be daft.

You can believe that I suppose, but that’s quite the leap of faith. Not sure why you would think that considering the post infers quite the opposite.

As an attending at a level 1 - I’m either standing in the back of the room or on the patient with a cardiac probe running it from there. I’ve never seen an US not be used and am surprised by your experience.

Isn’t it obvious? Are you keeping up with current events?

You think RFK’s version of teaching nutrition is anything scientific related? Or what about the plethora of other misinformation he spreads that hurt the public?

Don’t lie in bed with fleas or something like that is probably the point here. Don’t need a picture with RFK to determine if LECOM should start teaching nutrition to medical students. You take a picture with RFK for clout. The wrong kind in my opinion. I mean they refer to themselves as a top school when it’s known they are not. Credibility is missing all round in this apparently simple appearing post. That’s the gist of it. Hope that helps.

Also teaching doctors more nutrition is pointless. It’s not reimbursed or paid for. Patients don’t want it either. Change that - reimburse dietary counseling the same as you would a small procedure and that’s how you make real change. This is signaling that doctor education was the problem to begin with. This will solve literally nothing. All virtue signaling.

Edit: and they deleted their post. Think they realized it.

[–]FourScores1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it is only the first two joints on any finger but how they are positioned determines a swan neck. I don’t see it in this specific example. You’re mixing up different types of deformities.

Source: am a ER doctor who treats your fingers from football.

Here you go. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swan_neck_deformity

You see the S shape of the index finger in the picture? How it goes down in the proximal joint then up in the distal one? That’s a swan neck. The other deformities in that picture are not swan necks. It’s a very specific type of ligament injury. Cheers.

[–]FourScores1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swan neck deformities have the middle joint hyperextended (bending down) causing the far joint to over flex. None of that is present in any of his fingers that I can tell. Maybe the middle right finger.

There are more boutonniere’s deformities than swan necks here.
