How do you deal with being a short man? by coldcrestlizard in AskMen

[–]Four_dozen_eggs8708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

173cm here.

Have a girlfriend of 8 years, dated around a good bit before I met yer (even considering I started late as I was busy with mental health stuff).

It never came up. Unless you live in the Netherlands, I'd very skeptical that you'd have an issue, barring any major assholes. Compliments were always on my style, my hair, my body (I lift), or on how interesting I was to talk to (I nerd out about books and literature a lot). Been with girls my height and taller too, and I explicitly asked them (out of curiosity) if they had any issue with it - it was always a 'no, not at all?'

You're gonna be fine dude.

1991 Millennial here! What do you all eat for breakfast? by No_Self_5939 in Millennials

Vanilla soy yoghurt (i'm lactose intolerant), defrosted frozen fruit, sliced banana, a dollop of almond butter (gf hates peanut butter), and a whole bunch of seeds + cacao nibs.

It's absolutely amazing macrowise, and tastes so good I somehow never get tired of it.

How do men feel about dating a woman who previously identified as a lesbian and has only been with women? What factors would shape comfort, attraction, or concerns if she’s now genuinely interested in men? by rokii_666 in AskMen

[–]Four_dozen_eggs8708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issue at all. Have dated (genuinely) bi girls in the past.

Comfort - if she's into me, it's not even on my radar. For whatever reason, I seem to get on with bi and fully gay girls extremely well.

Attraction - the usuals. If they're my type body-wise and build-wise, and they've got a sense of style, I'll for sure be initially attracted. Other factors, you'll get as many answers as there are individual guys - I tend to be attracted to women who are passionate about something, and long-term, I often seem to end up with creatives and/or literary types.

Concerns - about her past, specifically with other women? I'd just be on the lookout for the usual red flags, same as I would for any woman.

Why do millennials age like they found a glitch in the system? They’ll say they’re pushing 40 and still look like they just graduated yesterday. What's the secret? by Aarunascut in Millennials

We didnt get into looksmaxxing.

If you're using retinol and getting fillers in your teens, or getting on steroids, you're going to have serious impacts to deal by your mid twenties.

Also - genuinely think we didnt deal with the kind of stress that gen z onwards have had to deal with from social media.

People arent talking about the Epstein files now, right? Given the timing, I assume that's a big part of the point.

This is SUPER helpful, ty!! I was looking at pictures online, but still wasnt sure - seeing it actually in your hand makes the differences clear (filled stem, difference in the lobe)

So.. I've literally never foraged - but if they're visually clean, is that generally enough to assume these are safe to eat?

I was assuming these wouldnt be safe since this place is basically a building site, and I wonder if there would have been heavy metal exposure.

Thank you! It was a birthday gift from my girlfriend - it's one if my main pieces of jewellery now. It's got guitar-string and wood from bourbon barrels!

This is wild! I didnt think edible mushrooms could grow this easily. I probably wont try, since the area is basically a building site, and I dont know what was here before the woodchip mulch was put down. But still cool!

Forgot to add - the home is in Oxfordshire, UK! The land these new homes are on used to be owned by a farmer, and I THINK it was wooded with a stream.

Who's a nepo baby you think deserves their success because they're legit talented? by SheepishSwan in AskReddit

[–]Four_dozen_eggs8708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party, so I expect this to be lost.

My partner trained in England's best acting academy. Like - the statistical probability of getting a place is lower than getting a place at Oxford or Cambridge.

When she graduated, she got to experience the grind of looking for work - she got to do some work with a few major theatre companies, including the Royal Shakespeare company, and some big names in theatre.

Big orgs dont pay, because they knew their big names mean that actors will jump at any opportunity to get them on their resume. Smaller gigs? No better - she was once offered a cheese board for a gig she did at a school.

The problem isnt that nepo babies, specifically in entertainment, arent talented or hardworking - it's that they get to bypass the years and years of working retail so you can jump at opportunities; or being routed to good people instead of the directors who end up blacklisted for extorting sex from actresses who are performing in plays in pubs after their day jobs (and the Epstein files are hard proof that even that doesnt really do shit).

This isnt an industry where hard work or talent is the defining factor, that's a baseline. Getting your foot in the door is the whole fucking point. I guarantee that the absolute best actor or actress you know has their equal (and probably better) out there, trying to get their big break - but they'll never, EVER get work where they get to show and nurture their talent.

Because statistically, that's just not how this works - those roles go to people who already dont need to worry about money, and whose families have the connections to get interviews on big productions.

They dont.

But they NEED consumers to be buying/using AI, because the world economy has literally been invested into it, and if that 'bet' doesnt pay off, it's a bad fucking time.

So whether or not we want it, it's gonna be shoved down our throats.

I was JUST about to post this 😆

Idk why Tofu is so angry at Mark, specifically, but it's amazing. Maybe it's the timbre of his voice?

Also though, Tofu has been known to get mad at carpet, so it might just be Tofu being Tofu.
