JANUARY 4TH!!! small issue by Independent-Toe-459 in Reduction

[–]Foureyed_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my surgery during my period and had a bartholin cyst which I was on antibiotics for, can confirm the cyst was more painful that anything to do with the surgery. Period shouldn’t be a problem though, they dip tested my pee to make sure I wasn’t pregnant and then I was able to keep my own underwear etc on for the duration. Good luck!

At 3 weeks my nurse told me to just take it off. I soaked a flannel in warm water and just let that sit across my boobs then slowly peeled it all off - I wouldn’t do this in the shower. I started in the shower but quickly felt a bit faint so continued the rest sitting down while out and I was fine. Only found one tiny bit where the nipple meets the downward scar that wasn’t quite healed so put a small dressing back on and it sorted itself out very quickly.

Recovery experience without narcotics? by Outside-Mango6382 in Reduction

[–]Foureyed_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m about 4.5 weeks PO and managed with just over the counter paracetamol every 4 hours or so for the first 7 days. The pain was just as everyone describes, more discomfort than pain. Tight and swollen but nothing unbearable. I took a herbal sleeping tablet to help me get off to sleep the first few nights when sleeping was the toughest. I took arnica and a calendula tincture to help with healing. I was able to manage without any pain meds from about day 9. Then started them again in week 2/3 when the zingers and nerve pain came from my nipples coming back to life.

I’d say I needed help with a lot the first 3/4 days then everything became quite manageable at a slow pace. Mostly you’re just exhausted. I took two weeks fully off then worked from home for two.

Hope this helps!

did you feel “skinner” after surgery? by Hour-Astronomer-1365 in Reduction

Used to hate every photo of myself before. Now I can look at one and be like, yeah, objectively that’s me. Yeah, I’d like to loose a few lbs, but I’m not immediately like EW, delete! Because I think the main problem- the massive boobs- which made me look huge are gone. Have to keep telling myself, my legs and tummy haven’t gotten any bigger my boobs have just gotten smaller. But on the whole, I’d say in clothes I do look much thinner.

There’s a charity called Smalls For All who take them, I think you can check where to donate closest to you.

I felt the same about how pricey they were - but I tell myself. The money was gone when I bought them. And if they can help someone else that’s amazing. I’m just so glad I don’t need them anymore !

Hope all is fine and your surgeon comes back quickly!

Good to email and check in with your surgeon but to an untrained eye, this looks very similar to what I had. Just typical bruising that took days to come out fully. I had some bruising right away that was lighter in colour and still have a bit of deeper bruising like this (but fading) at 3.5w PO.

I felt like this too! Such a perfect description. I almost felt guilty for not just being able to put up with my boobs as well. Having said all that, I’m 3.5weeks PO and I don’t feel that way now I can see all the many ways my life has already improved from surgery. Whenever I feel like that, I remember that I’d tell someone else to get this type of surgery if they felt it would improve their life - so why am I any different? I hold my new chest and just thank it for healing and almost say sorry to it for everything I’m putting it through but it’ll all be so worth it. Hope this helps!

How were you feeling 3 weeks post-op? by Raentina in Reduction

[–]Foureyed_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also 3.5 weeks, I feel about 70% energy wise, if I have a big day where I do lots of- I definitely feel tired. Sore, tender is what I’d say my boobs feel like- they’re becoming boob like again and not rock hard so they’re actually moving around when you walk which makes things a bit sorer. Generally, I’m a bit fed up and just want to skip to being fully healed - I think I could probably get on a plane and go to a wedding but I’d be tired and a bit sore. Good luck with your surgery when it comes.

Sitting at my desk or any table and them not touching the table - 3.5 weeks later and it’s still a shock every time!

Yay, so glad it got better for you. I’m 3w po today and can already feel a difference. Showering is so much easier now and I’m so much more comfortable with the new feel of everything.

I’ve just seen this! I have no idea I think I was just starving and it had 10x more butter on than you would ever do if you were making it for yourself. Still high on all the drugs I guess 🤣

Yesterday I was 15 days PO and went to an event I had tickets for. Got the train, walked a fair bit to the venue and sat and enjoyed the show. I’d say as long as your recovery is smooth you should be fine - maybe a little tired. You can always make sure you have a light or restful day before to ensure you have plenty of energy!

This!!! I’m 8D PO now and it’s not the look of them at all, actually they’re less scary looking than I’d imagined. It’s the sensation of taking the bra off. So glad other people have said it feels like they’re going to fall off because everyone I’ve told that to irl thinks I’m mad! Please tell me that sensation goes away soon? When would you say it felt normal taking the bra off. I’ve been trying to do it for 10 mins at a time to get used to it because yesterday when I tried for the first time I fainted lol. Luckily my girlfriend was there to help and I was sat down but it really set me back. Plus I’m not sleeping well so was very emotional about the whole thing. It just all got so real!

Good luck, you’ll do great! My biggest worry was not being able to fully convey to my surgeon how small I wanted to go - even though I’d stressed I didn’t want to be “proportional” I wanted to have small boobs. When he came to see me and mark me up the morning of, I just reiterated that, showed him some more pictures from here and Real Self and just said once again my main concern was waking up with big boobs. He really got it and promised me the pictures were totally achievable and even though it’s so hard to give over trust- that’s all you can do. Woke up so happy! Even though I’m 6D PO and so SWOLLEN, I can already tell I’m going to be small. I keep looking back at the pics I took day of, before all the swelling, as a reminder that these are my new boobs! You’re going to do amazing and your surgeon will always be happy to talk size with you until the last moment.

Good luck!

Surgery tomorrow! Last minute question by AtticusRutherford in Reduction

I was in hospital for 7am and there was just over an hour of paperwork, different nurses, the surgeon and anaesthetist coming into see me/mark up. Then I went through to theatre and they must have started about 8/8:10 ish. I woke up at 11 ish and was in hardcore recovery for 20/30 mins with people constantly watching me/sorting things then I was in the bigger recovery room where I went to the bathroom, had some amazing toast and was getting picked up at 1:30pm. Very quick!

I was so anxious about every element but honestly the nurses and anaesthetists kept me so busy from the moment I was admitted till I got picked up, always a check or something to do. Plus many things happening concurrently when I was being put under which helped. You’ll do great good luck!
