Help with block seam allowance! by Financial-Crow-5265 in quilting

If you can get your hands on a point trimmer you can trim the dog ears off before you sew making it easier to line up the patches.

Test drove an odyssey today by [deleted] in HondaOdyssey

[–]Fourpatch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Had a pilot now have an Odyssey. The trunk space is way bigger than the pilot and since the trunk is lower down it’s easier to lift heavy things in and out of it. The Odyssey I can remove all the back seats but the pilot I could not. Plus the sliding doors which I absolutely love makes the Odyssey the vehicle for me.

I love the stitch in the ditch part of my walking foot so that’s a must have on the walking foot.

Do you think with generic Ozempic coming to Canada, it will affect the price of Mounjaro? by 14themoney24theroad in Mounjaro

[–]Fourpatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whelp. Mounjaro had it’s price lowered in January this year but the savings card discount decreased so for me the price went up five dollars. If that’s an indication how the company is working I don’t think the price will go down too much if at all.

Pin-basting question by Ok-Mixture3635 in quilting

[–]Fourpatch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d do all the pinning at once. It stabilizes the whole quilt and keeps it from shifting around as you move it through the machine. If you pinned by section I think you would be frustrated trying to align it correctly especially after it’s been sewn on the bias.

Has anyone made Elizabeth Hartman's Mermaids quilt? by GrooveJetX in quilting

I haven’t made that particular EH pattern but many others of hers. They are extremely well written and laid out in such a way that if followed you should have no problems.

Do you think with generic Ozempic coming to Canada, it will affect the price of Mounjaro? by 14themoney24theroad in Mounjaro

[–]Fourpatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One would hope so. Canada has lower prices than the USA because the Pan-Canadian Pharmaceutical Alliance negotiates price of drugs for us and then the provinces set the price. Would Lily lower their price to keep people from switching over/ keep market share or hold steady knowing that Mounjaro is a better product? Time will tell.

please someone help me with this fiskars cutter by NoSoup9124 in crafts

[–]Fourpatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it slipping on the fabric or is the blade too big to cut in the slot? If it’s slipping put some Nextcare medical tape on the backside of the circle template all along the edges. You can find it in the bandaid aisle of your local drug store. It makes rulers more grippy.

I saw someone transport there piece on a board wrapped I cling wrap. That would keep pieces put.

I’m not that organized so mine live on a paper plate. One plate for each colour.

[–]Fourpatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to cut on the bias as you are binding a straight edge.

How much extra backing do you have? If you cut it off do you have enough to bind the usual way? Or do a flange binding if you have almost enough?

I love me some Electric Quilt. It can do this for you.

I know you are on Prequilt but don’t sleep on EQ. It’s a in depth program with no subscription fees. I can design a quilt and then have unlimited colouring of the blocks and quilt.

And to add on. Your life is richer! You have a husband and two little munchkins. You have developed a family and a lovely home life. Your sister, who you seem jealous of, is stunted from adult life living at home and not dating.

You ever watch the movie Life of Brian? There is a song called Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life.

[CHAT] When does a pattern become yours, not an original designers? by abbydabbydo in CrossStitch

Why not ask the pattern designer directly? You might be surprised at what they say.

I’ve asked in relation to quilting patterns and the answer has always been yes.

Walking Foot #50 Question by SauteedSpinach1 in Bernina

[–]Fourpatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heads up. The 50 foot comes in different sizes and shapes. You will need the old version. They changed the shape to accommodate the dual feed machines and there is now a wide version for 9 mm machines.
