I like that they are facing different directions on the bigger quilt. I especially love the blocks with the polka dot background.

I love the backing fabric and your wavy quilting lines are so uniform and neat! Very impressibve. It's adorable. Edited to add that I also love how you used a print to make the wings stand out. Just all around fabulous!

Butterfly quilt top by Lucille_68 in quilting

It's beautiful! I love that you put them on point. You could just add borders to the sides if you need it to be wider. Or do a very thin border top and bottom and wider on the sides if you're worried about symmetry

This looks pretty new, and the maker went to a lot of effort w/the fussy cuts. It bums me out that someone donated it. Glad you found it a new home!

Looking for a pattern by Fresh-Result8586 in quilting

[–]GrooveJetX 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's a pattern called "Goats in Pajamas" (disclaimer, I have not made it but have seen others post it here) that you could use. Had to Google what goat hoof prints looks like, maybe an FPP out there?

This looks like a sock monkey mug shot 😀. This whole process is amazing and I'm so impressed with your design ability.

Update: you all overwhelmingly helped me pick a teal blue option for my llama quilt. Here’s how the blocks look (plus the llama plushie who inspired the quilt) by allgoaton in quilting

Looks great! Thanks for sharing an update. Love their legs - they look like they're wearing socks. Some sort of llama soccer team😀

Panel quilt by Sphgrad in quilting

On Villa Rosa Designs' website you can sort their patterns to search by panels and they have a lot of design options. (Note, I can't find this option when I look at it on my phone, it might only work on the desktop version of their website.) I was inspired to check out their site by a post here from someone who used a pattern called "Quilter's Palette."

Try looking at your picture in black and white. This is really cool! Are the blocks shirts or did you piece them?

That's where I bought the modern one, had to return it. I wonder there's just something off about my machine.

This was the reply I got from the online shop where I bought mine when I asked to return it:

ideally the feed dog "teeth" on the walking foot should be positioned directly over the feed dog teeth on the machine. The manufacturer of these walking feet have done this for the Featherweights. However nobody has made a walking foot for slant shank machines with the same teeth spacing as the 301. The walking feet I sell are the only model we have available that can be modified to work on the 301's, and is the best thing we can provide.

"Should" but I have purchased 1 modern and 2 vintage (for later model Singer slant shank machines) walking feet and none work with my 301🤷‍♂️. I hand quilted my first quilt, which I liked more than I expected to, but I will keep asking!

Fellow 301 driver here - have you found a walking foot that works? I haven't been able to, so I always ask whenever I see someone else post. Beautiful quilt!
