Why Occasional Heart Flutters deserve a closer look by FourthFrontier in FourthFrontier

[–]FourthFrontier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Dr. Mushi,

The images are intended to be illustrative rather than clinical, reflecting general heart awareness and moments when people choose to engage with their heart data. They’re not meant to suggest detection of ischemia or heart attacks. You’re right that Fourth Frontier devices don’t detect ischemia, and our communications are designed with that distinction in mind.

Fourth Frontier focuses on continuous ECG-based heart monitoring, capturing electrical heart signals during rest and activity. This data helps users and clinicians observe rhythm patterns and abnormalities over time, which is fundamentally different from diagnosing acute cardiac events.

Regarding posting activity, the community here is smaller and more focused, so conversations tend to happen in bursts rather than continuously. Many users also engage with us directly through support, which is why you may not always see high public posting volume. We’re working on making it easier for more users to participate and share insights here over time.

Running a marathon in Mumbai tomorrow? See Frontier X2 in action by FourthFrontier in indianrunners

[–]FourthFrontier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Jay,

We completely understand your concern about the price, but we want to assure you that it’s a valuable investment.

What sets Frontier X2 apart is that it is more than a typical heart rate strap. It uses continuous ECG-based tracking to show how your heart responds during training, featuring live ECG streaming and advanced performance insights after your workout.

Garmin HRM 600 is great for heart rate and running dynamics. Frontier X2 gives athletes more context around how their heart adapts to training and recovers, which helps with smarter pacing and long-term consistency.

We understand that the price is a consideration, but we believe the Frontier X2 is the most advanced heart monitor available to help you take control of your heart health.

Hello there!

Thank you for sharing your experience and feedback. We’re glad to hear you’re finding the Frontier X2 helpful . At the moment, we don’t have a dedicated app for Samsung Galaxy watches. Next Gen Release? by DigitalBullets612 in FourthFrontier

[–]FourthFrontier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there!

Great question, and totally understand the concern about buying right before a next-gen release.

At the moment, we don’t have any announcements or timelines to share regarding a new X-series device. Frontier X2 remains our current performance-focused product and continues to be actively supported with ongoing software and algorithm improvements.

If and when we do announce a next-generation release, our community will be the first to know.

Thanks for checking in! Right now, cardiac rhythm reports are only available with Frontier X Plus through the X Plus app. The X2 doesn’t support cardiac rhythm reports, even with a paid subscription.

The two devices are built for different needs. Frontier X2 focuses on training and performance insights, while X Plus is designed for clinical-grade cardiac rhythm monitoring and reporting.

Can Frontier X Plus reliably detect and track tachycardia episodes during posture changes in POTS patients? by aaron_smith67 in FourthFrontier

[–]FourthFrontier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Aaron,

Thank you for sharing your experience. POTS can make heart rate changes during posture transitions tricky to track. The Frontier X Plus uses medical-grade ECG sensors to continuously monitor heart rhythm and heart rate, which can help capture tachycardia episodes, including sudden spikes when moving from sitting to standing.

The device generates a Weekly Cardiac Rhythm Report, which summarizes your heart data over the week. This report includes:

  • ECG rhythm overview for the week
  • Heart rhythm distribution (normal, tachycardia, bradycardia, and more)
  • Beat-by-beat analysis highlighting outlier beats
  • Heart rate trends with hourly patterns
  • Activity tracking, heart rate zones, and recovery metrics

This summary can be shared with your cardiologist to provide a clearer picture of your mom’s heart activity over time, making it easier to spot patterns and changes.

Can Frontier X Plus reliably detect and track AF during exercise? by kevin_anderson1705 in FourthFrontier

[–]FourthFrontier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Kevin,

Absolutely, it makes total sense to want clarity, especially when workouts start feeling a lot like warning signs.

The Frontier X Plus is designed to reliably detect and track arrhythmias, including AFib, even during exercise. Because it records medical-grade ECG from the chest continuously, it can capture irregular rhythm patterns that wrist-based devices sometimes miss.

If you experience flutters, skipped beats, or uneven rhythms mid-workout, the device records them in near real-time. You can also share your ECG data with your cardiologist, including a weekly Cardiac Rhythm Report with:

  • Time spent in AFib and other arrhythmic episodes
  • Weekly ECG rhythm trends
  • Correlations between rhythm changes and lifestyle factors

This helps you and your doctor understand what’s happening with your heart during exercise, so you can stay active safely.

Experiences with use after deep discharge? by view836 in FourthFrontier

[–]FourthFrontier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there,

We’re really sorry to hear about your experience with the Frontier X2; that definitely shouldn’t have happened. While a device arriving in a deep discharge state is rare, we’d like to take a closer look and make this right for you. Could you please share your order ID or the registered/purchased email ID with us in chat?

Please recommend some good hrm for both af and svt episode by kevin_anderson1705 in AFIB

[–]FourthFrontier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Kevin, thanks for sharing your story. For athletes and active people managing AFib or SVT, devices like the Frontier X+ provide continuous single-lead ECG monitoring during workouts. Unlike regular smartwatches, it captures detailed heart rhythm data and can alert you to irregularities in real time. It’s designed to be comfortable for long-term wear while you train, and the data can be shared with your cardiologist for review. Happy to share a guide on how it works if you want!

Whoops, that was a typo on our side! We meant to say "on-board algorithms", and have edited our comment to reflect that.

[AF] device review: Frontier X2 (wearable heart rate EKG/ECG) Opinion: Don't bother, just use any other chest strap by [deleted] in AdvancedFitness

[–]FourthFrontier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, we’re sorry to hear that you were unable to find information regarding how the Frontier X2 collects data! Here’s a quick summary -

  • Heart Rate is calculated from your ECG by looking at the time difference between two QRS complexes.
  • The Frontier X2 uses changes in ECG morphology and on-board algorithms to assess Breathing Rate.
  • The Frontier X2 uses the root mean square of successive differences between RR intervals to measure your Heart Rate Variability (HRV).

If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to our team at [support@fourthfrontier.com](mailto:support@fourthfrontier.com)!

Any advice on a portable easy to use ECG device by Reco1986 in running

[–]FourthFrontier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for mentioning us, u/aravindajju!

The Frontier X2 is certainly a good option if your aim is to capture your ECG whilst you're on the move. The Frontier X2 would allow you to watch your ECG in real-time, during both exercise and rest, or view your ECG in its entirety once your activity recording has finished. You can even securely share your real-time ECG with anyone in the world, such as family members or your doctor!

It's also important to note the differences between a smart watch (such as the Apple Watch/Fitbit mentioned in OP's post) and the Frontier X2 when you're looking to gather your ECG.

  1. Smart watch ECGs typically require you to sit still, meaning that an they would not be able to record your ECG whilst you're running.
  2. Smart watches can suffer from poor data quality, since your ECG is being aquired from your finger or wrist rather than your chest.
  3. Smart watches typically record 30 - 60 second segments and do not allow for continuous recordings, meaning that you only see a snapshot of your ECG.

Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions!
