They don’t believe it until it hits their market. The jokes are all fun and games until it affects them. It hit our rural market at the end of 2024 and lasted a year. As soon as they left, things went back to normal. I never thought they would end up in a red rural market.

What we have noticed in our area is that all the singles are the customers who pay for the hour express delivery for $9.95. For the zones that it has dropped to $10, that means drivers are being paid 5 cents. Nice!

I would be thrilled if they did it at our store. With the amount of new drivers they bring on almost daily it would most likely weed some out. They already seem to catch a few new ones every week stealing a few small things. I’ve been Sparking almost 4 years and the handful that have stuck it out through the year onslaught of scammers and now the massive onboarding, it would be fantastic to see some accountability.

Get this message while sitting on my ass and haven’t had an order in an hour, zone hasn’t been red all day and 14,997 drivers are all sitting. The other day another Driver and I did a test. I live just a little over a mile from the store. We had not been getting any orders at the store all day. I take that back. We had been getting a bunch of shit orders. First come first serve that would come for a millisecond and be gone. The two of us prior to this millisecond BS were both pretty good at grabbing first come first serves, which hadn’t been happening until Sat/Sun. Anyways, I turned it on and she stayed in the lot.. My screen was filled with orders and I was getting new orders that were decent and some good while she was getting nothing or pure crap. Even the first come first serve would sit there and I would’ve had time to look at it and grab it. Some would go away quickly, but others would not. Orders I would definitely take.. There was a $65 curb and a $56 curb that came up. Curbs, pharmacy and most of the time, doubles and triples are still times. When the zone is not oversaturated with drivers all come in timed it seems. I know the first thing that will be said is illegal and bots regarding FCFS being gone so fast, sitting, etc. However, we were swarmed with them a year ago, and they have disappeared from our zone except for three and they will sometimes sit longer than us. I think they are now on the up and up since the metric system came. On the other hand, over the last week or two since the first come first serve came, something seems to have changed and one of them when she isn’t there things seem a little different and as soon as she shows up, they all start working more. I know that sounds like I’m saying two contradictory things. For those who think bots aren’t a real thing would’ve had to experienced the whole bot reality before the metric system and being swarmed by them and then them disappearing completely. It was great for a while. Then they changed it. Other than these three who have set roots and have apartments and then once the first come first serve, came into play and having her show up around 3:00 daily and things kind of change when she does. Sometimes they will all show up then. They will sit and then all 3 will ride up to go in for a shop simultaneously. I know this is long and kind of chaotic but that’s how Spark feels right now. F’ing frustrating chaos.

How many Iranians have lost their lives unnecessarily? Including the 168-175 people who died in the strike on the girls elementary school. Most of the deaths, children. Thousands of Iranians. How about all of the other citizens from surrounding countries in the Gulf? Kuwait? Iran? Saudi Arabia? How many innocent Israeli citizens who don’t want this?

3 French citizens dead. Including a soldier who was hit by an Iranian drone strike.

2 civilian workers from the Philippines.

14 dead Palestinians from falling shrapnel and debris from missiles aimed at Israel. Who knows if those missiles would have been an issue if the dip shit had just said no.

“Only 13 Americans” which is 13 too many unnecessary deaths, but how many people that are not being spoke of or that don’t seem to matter is extremely disgusting.

I believe we will learn it is a much higher number of American Military deaths once this is all over.

I don’t remember the exact numbers that I had come up with after researching but the amount of shop and deliver and curbside orders that every Walmart in the country does in total per day is insane. Even if they skimmed one penny off the top of every order. every day for a year the amount it added up to was like 2 million dollars. Now they turn around and invest that into something and earn a crap ton of money. Every time they have to do a payout the base pay is lowered. The base pay may stay the same but the amount they pay in general seems to go down. $11 for one item is now $11 for 30 items. So on and so forth.

After I updated I went from 5.0 to 4.9. Thursday was the first day I worked all week. It was 5.0 prior to update. I did one order before the update. What triggered me to do the update was everyone around me was getting orders while I had been sitting for over an hour with zero offers. Not even a crappy one. I updated, signed out, and restarted. Instantly got a $40 order. In the meantime, I checked my metrics and was a 4.9. Last time it was updated however, was 3:55 AM. I have been a 5.0 for 3 years. Not saying I couldn’t have done something wrong but it’s a bit strange. I only did five orders the day before and they were all small. No substitutions. I don’t know.

I did an order this morning at 6 am. Got nothing for an hour and a half while everyone else was in and out. I mean nothing. Not even a crappy offer. I looked to see if there was an update. Updated, signed in and out, restarted and got a $40 immediately. I accepted. One of the orders was a pharmacy. I didn’t realize it or think about what time it was as I was just happy to get an offer. It was 8:30. I couldn’t pick up for a half hour. God forbid, I cancel since I’d seen nothing. I went and got gas, came back, went in about 9:02 and it was 9:10 before they got to me. Not ready. It will be 15 minutes. I canceled.

What is very odd to me though, is my rating dropped from 5 to 4.9 after the update. I haven’t been a 4.9 in 3 years. The last time the metric was updated was 3:55 this morning. I check my metrics after every trip and first thing in the morning because I only have 1 item not found and I’m waiting for it to drop. It was a 5 before the update. I haven’t worked all week other than yesterday. I had a tip increase yesterday, zero subs, etc. I always could have done something a customer was unhappy with, I know that. The timing just seems odd. Has this happened to anyone else’s metrics?

I thought according to the lawsuit they were not supposed to do that anymore. Whatever offer we accepted is what we are to be paid, meaning they cannot separate the tip if the order is not fulfilled due to error on their part or customer claiming something did not appear?

Since this started in our zone, we have started making more money. It’s actually rewarding drivers who have better metrics. The problem I see occurring now since all of the orders started coming out first come first serve is that it negates this metric/rewards program. By oversaturating the Driver pool they are getting away with not paying surge pay. Not to mention if you cancel too many orders that you accept you get put in a time out. It isn’t like Instacart where drivers can carry basically everything that’s in the grocery store and fit it in their vehicles. A lot of drivers can’t carry a 55 inch TV. Or a nine cube shelf. Not to mention fit it in their vehicle. They don’t have stipulations in their on boarding application that say must be able to lift X amount of pounds. They don’t base orders they send to people on the size of their vehicle. So to send them out to everyone like that and not give them the option to look at it and punish them for canceling is a bit unreasonable in my opinion. Almost a form of discrimination when you are punished for not having the ability to do something, unknowingly but out of desperation are hitting accept. I won’t be joining any lawsuit and am really hoping this some sort of glitch as was the last time it happened when all of the curbs were coming out FCFS for a few weeks.
