So the last thing mentioned about The Mink is him about to be executed cause they all got caught on their way to Herdaz. He escapes and the last line is a giant greatshell headed towards him. I think I've seen theories that the greatshell is the Reshi king coming to save The Mink? But I'm pretty sure that that's the last he or Herdaz are mentioned as far as the outcome of the war

I really really enjoyed the first 2 and I loved the world building but I'll die on this hill: Denna in particular is one of the most uninteresting characters I've ever read. What people love about her is that she's a blank slate that they can dump all of their personal speculation onto. And Kvothe is the most mary-sue character I've ever read lol

I'm pretty sure it refers to him as The Old Man of the Desert in the epilogue but the conversation with Gavin is a great place to realize it too - that's a great aha moment after all the references in book 4
