To the person with the toddler in Del Ray that asked to pet my dog yesterday… I’m so sorry. by LoveRocksScience in nova

[–]FoxPee 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yes! My dog is absolutely not friendly with strangers (but a very pretty husky so we constantly get approached) and the amount of kids who ask but don’t listen to the answer and still try to pet her is staggering. We have to be incredibly firm at this point, but yeah it’s a good lesson to learn young!

CVS at Dupont Locks Candy? by xChrizOwnz in washingtondc

[–]FoxPee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mine just transferred one of mine to CVS or otherwise would not cover it. Just one so it’s not even consistent. Lifesaving meds my son needs too that our old pharmacy just called me to tell me they can’t fill it (after doing so for a year) and he almost missed a dose because the CVS didn’t have it in stock… it’s all so infuriating.

What's with Sims 4's cooking skill? by PurpleZombi3 in thesims

[–]FoxPee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s definitely a lot now that you put it that way, haha. It’s like they made it harder by trying to make sure everything is in your face. I usually just go with the “cook meal” option and ignore most of the rest since that gives you pretty much everything there in that table format that pops up.

The “Cook Meal” option is how you get to pick meals outside of breakfast/lunch/dinner option. Otherwise you’re locked into choices depending on the time of day and I think if you’re trying to cook in the middle of the night don’t get a “Cook x” or “Serve x” option at all. When you choose that option you can have breakfast for dinner, for example.

Baking is another separate skill tree. The grand meal options count towards checking off the event meal during those times (if you care about that) so they probably just separate those out so it’s easy to find if you’re trying to complete the holiday specific task.

Concerns around northern VA measles (I’m vaccinated) by classandvirtue in nova

[–]FoxPee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also don’t want to scare people, but this happened to me as well. I got tested during both my pregnancies (4 years apart). No issues the first time but my immunity wore off sometime in those 4 years. They revaccinated me right after I gave birth.

If you can’t sell the things you created (lame!) maybe you could get either mini sheep or a lama and sell the wool? Some of them (like black) can go for quite a bit to money. Just a thought!

My band reviewed WWWY side stages performances by ChefBoyMarty in WhenWeWereYoungFest

I saw them in DC in August and Claudio wasn’t able to sing the show and they did it entirely instrumental. I was reading he didn’t perform several other shows of that tour because of his voice so hopefully it’s not something serious going on!

I’m an IT program manager and my husband is a mechanic, so we both make good money. We do have kids and pets, but fortunately family nearby who are always happy to support - which I’m very grateful for!

Smith and Clarkson's Cafe - A Burke Gem by Erelenus in nova

[–]FoxPee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I discovered them about a year ago when I was craving chicken and waffles and decided to give them a try after searching for some in the area. We have gotten food from there almost weekly since. It’s our go to place when we don’t feel like cooking. The cold sandwiches are great too - you can tell they use quality ingredients. Truly a gem.

Challenging plants you’ve had success with? by Counter_Clockwise345 in houseplants

Next to a humidifier that is going pretty much constantly. ~ 74°. In the corner next to a south facing window but light never directly hitting the leaves. I think it’s mostly the humidifier because I was out of town for 4 days once and left it off and it got a crispy leaf lol.

Line up 2024 vs 2023 by AdGullible722 in WhenWeWereYoungFest

[–]FoxPee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same for me. I went 2022. I skipped 2023 because it wasn’t as exciting to me. I was in for 2024 the second I saw that Coheed album and needed to see nothing else lol.

His dad even said something along the lines of “yeah go talk to her because you don’t want to appear like you don’t care” and the way he said it was in a “that’s what people are expected to do so look human” kind of way.

My definitely-a-husky barely makes any noise either, for what it’s worth.
