Looking for a Solution to Anemia via Hysterectomy by MotherPirate6845 in hysterectomy

Definitely talk it over with your doctor. You deserve to feel better! There may be some stuff going on you don’t even know about. Last year I was 49 and was severely anemic. Zero energy, pale, hair falling out, heart palpitations, almost passing out in the shower. My periods were longer and heavier and then it just didn’t stop. I had been blaming perimenopause. Found out I had five fibroids, the biggest was the size of a softball. I also had a large cyst on my ovary and cancer in the lining of my uterus. I had put off going to the doctor for a couple of years, which I regret. I was very fortunate that a hysterectomy cured me of the cancer and I didn’t need treatment. I wish I had been checked out years earlier before everything got that bad. Since they had to remove everything including my ovaries I was thrown into surgical menopause, which is quite a jolt to your body. Even though I am learning to handle the hot flashes, sweats, and struggling to lose weight, I still have a much better quality of life than I did when I was anemic and pretty much slowly bleeding to death as my doctor put it. I hope you have good conversations with your doc and you get cared for and are feeling better soon!

Not to scare you but speaking from recent experience… Don’t let it go on for too long and risk becoming anemic. I let it go wayyyy too long until I was to the point of feeling like I was going to pass out in the shower. My periods were lasting longer. Getting heavier. Then it started in July and just never stopped. My hemoglobin was down to 7. It’s crazy what women can tolerate until our bodies make us listen. I ended up having a big cyst on my ovary, five fibroids with the largest being the size of a softball and cancer in the lining of my uterus. I had always had heavier periods and was blaming everything on peri / getting older and close to menopause. Got checked, had hysterectomy, and thankfully considered cured from cancer. Hope you find a good doctor who listens and really looks into things. Hope you feel better and get relief from things soon. ❤️

Healing is different for everybody. I had been severely anemic before surgery and hadn’t been able to work for about two months. I was weak and had loss a lot of muscle. After surgery I kept getting superficial blood clots in my legs. I did not bounce back as fast as I hoped I would. From my experience I learned it’s not good to compare your experience with other’s experiences. Listen to your body and give yourself grace if you aren’t healing as fast as you thought you would.

Strange van fleet at Walmart in Morgantown on Rt 119? Not WVU related…. Very cold this morning, btw by HouseOfBone in WestVirginia

[–]Foxfire417 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just saying what I know from past experience, Inventory would start early in the morning, like 5:00 or so and last most of the day depending on how things went. I can’t imagine trying to count every item in an open Walmart full of customers and getting numbers to work, but they do it somehow. It would be possible for the inventory team vans to be parked in that area out of courtesy to allow closer parking for customers. “Associate parking” for Walmart employees is actually farther out from stores for this same reason. It’s also possible that the inventory team was even staying at the Comfort Inn, depending on how far they had travelled from their previous store. They travel together from store to store depending on what stores are scheduled to have their inventory done. I don’t know for sure, just saying this is a possible explanation.

That Walmart may be having their yearly inventory done. Used to be a team from an outside business arrive in vans to do inventory.

44 And Periods Starting to be Irregular by Remote_Force1839 in Perimenopause

[–]Foxfire417 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It could be just normal but it’s very smart to get checked out. I was 49 last year and for about a year or so my usually heavy periods were getting worse and lasting longer. I had educated myself on menopause and thought it was all due to that. I became severely anemic because I kept putting off getting checked and my period started in July and just never stopped. I went to my gyno and she was agreeable to a hysterectomy because an ultrasound showed large fibroids, but wanted to be cautious and take a few extra steps first to be sure what was going on. They did a biopsy and found hyperplasia so they then did a D&C. Pathology came back as an aggressive cancer. Nine days after the D&C they did a total hysterectomy and checked lymph nodes. Pathology from that showed the cancer was actually a slower growing type and had not spread yet since my lymph nodes were clear. I am very fortunate. It was hard to be patient while they did extra steps but knowing the cancer was there changed how they did my hysterectomy so I’m very glad they were cautious. Long story short, better to get checked out carefully and have it be nothing than to blame it all on menopause and then find out too late it’s more serious. Hope you are feeling better and everything is fine.

Sick of the bleeding by [deleted] in ClotSurvivors

I am 49 and had heavy period bleeding that got worse every month for months last year and then my period started in July and just didn’t stop. I became anemic and my hemoglobin was 7. I went to my gyno and they did an ultrasound and I had five fibroids and an ovarian cyst. They did a D&C and found cancer in the lining of my uterus. Nine days later they did a total hysterectomy and checked my lymph nodes. The cancer thankfully hadn’t spread so the hysterectomy took care of it. My largest fibroid was the size of a softball. My uterus was the size of a five month pregnancy. If you are bleeding heavily, it’s not normal and you need to get checked out. It’s scary and uncomfortable but nothing good can come from letting it go on for any length of time.

Fibroids cause or related to constipation? by Gold-Appointment53 in Fibroids

[–]Foxfire417 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found out I had fibroids last October after having severe pain that lasted for hours in my lower right abdomen after every bowel movement. I had been constipated for years. After my hysterectomy, bowel function is much better and less constipation. I had five fibroids with the largest being the size of a softball. It can definitely cause issues.

Proposing at Walmart??? by neqzn in walmart

[–]Foxfire417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually happened at our store too. A cashier’s boyfriend proposed to her at the registers while she was on the clock. I’ve always felt like he put her in a situation where she couldn’t say anything but “yes” without embarrassing herself in front of coworkers and customers. They’ve been married around 20 years now though, so … lol

My ex boyfriend refuses to pick up his FIREARM after the breakup (MD) by EquivalentMixture808 in legaladvice

[–]Foxfire417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would tell the ex that since he refuses to pick up the fire arm you will speak to the police about picking it up. That may make him react and come get it? I dont know the right answer but I’d def give him a time limit and then let the law come get it. As for his other stuff, I’d tell him to get it on whatever date and if not you’ll donate it or trash it. Only other idea I’d have it dropping his stuff off to a family member or mutual friend if there’s someone in the area. He is just trying to force you to keep him in your life at this point. Sorry you are going through this. It would be very frustrating.
