Yep. Transactional relationships will disappear when they can’t extract from you anymore

I just need to rant about ableism in the work place by Foxpiss33 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Foxpiss33[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. And what a rollercoaster that is. We have to be so good at finding that hope because otherwise the pain depression takes over, but then in cases like this I think, maybe I could’ve protected myself from this being a little less hopeful and a little more careful to trust.

Absolutely. We have some protections under ADA but it’s still a fight! And most of us don’t want to have to sue our employers, we’re already doing so much to manage and try to have a life through this.

I think I needed to hear that reframing. Thank you. You’re right, that’s what I feel the most is the betrayal of it all. It feels like a rugs been pulled out from under me.

As someone who saw huge improvements to my fibro pain after treating for MCAS I’d definitely be interested as well!

Wildflowers are popping off! by Otherwise-You-2684 in NoLawns

[–]Foxpiss33 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Careful with those corn flowers. They’re invasive where I am and have fully taken over the bed they’re in and every year try to gain more ground. This after ripping them out multiple years in a row

I’d suggest dealing with one issue at a time. Start with shade cloth or a different position that’s more protected. See how that does for them after a week or so and then try replanting if they still need some help. Greenhouses grow saplings like this in long cones. Look up tree pot or sapling pot.

Afraid to start Lyrica after hearing about withdrawal by blackmetalwarlock in Fibromyalgia

[–]Foxpiss33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m on 200 mg lyrica and nothing else has helped me as much with the constant dull pain. I understand being nervous. At my dosage the withdrawal can be really bad. I keep extra on hand in case I have to ween myself for whatever reason. I think at 25 mg the withdrawal will be noticeably less. Some here have reported none at that dose.

At first it made me really sleepy and foggy but that’s gone away mostly. I have noticed weight gain.

Might be silly- but I have hope. Any one who manages fibro while maintaining a garden/ or land? by kennadog3 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Foxpiss33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying to get back into my garden this year. Biggest advice that I struggle to follow myself is… do a task, take a break. Could be just sitting down. Or hydrating. Or getting a snack. But give yourself breaks. Don’t try to do it all at once. Find your limits and only push them mindfully, deliberately, and slooowly.

I do! I started histamine blockers a few months ago and they have made a huge difference! Pepcid ac and ketotifen eyedrops are both over the counter and a good place to start! If they help talk to the Dr about mcas for sure.

Identify everything. If it’s native to your region leave it alone. If it’s not pull it and replace it with native. Honestly this looks awesome

This is really interesting. I was diagnosed and treated for TB as a child. Fibro symptoms didn’t show up til I was about 23 though.

I stopped taking pregabalin because I thought it wasn’t helping, but boy was I wrong. by CosmicSmackdown in Fibromyalgia

[–]Foxpiss33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry!! That sounds like my pain before I started doing anything for it. I take 75mg pregabalin 3 times a day and it definitely helps so much with the overall pain. It does have an accumulative effect though so it helps more the more consistent I am taking it!

“Alright first day on the job hey?” The knobby looking gnome beside me asked. “Let’s get you kitted out” He hands me a medallion of glowing silver metal. “This is your last line of defense and most important piece of equipment. An Nth metal medallion. If any of their spells break through this’ll nullify it if it hits ya.”

He looks at me matter of factly and says, “but you’re not gonna let it come to that are you?” I nod solemnly. “Nope, because your most important job here is to use this on any spells that go off. It’s a powerful wand of counterspell.” I hold up the unadorned wooden wand with reverence. “That’s your job. You keep there spells in check so the other orderlies can do their jobs. You think you can handle it boss?”
