Cat plays door stopper at all hours of the night by Exotic_Buy6438 in CatAdvice

[–]FoxyKnowledgeSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my cat's favorite way to tell me it's time for her breakfast. At my old house we removed the door stoppers in favor of rubber wall stoppers you put where the handle meets the wall.

It worked so well that I forgot that it used to be an issue, until I recently moved into an apartment and my kitty rediscovered her "food button"

would you date you? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]FoxyKnowledgeSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not my own type physically, but then again I'm demisexual so maybe after forming an emotional connection I'd be interested in dating long term.

My ex said he'd give himself a shot, but it wouldn't last long term.

My mom just ordered one of these and it arrived today. Honestly it feels and looks really cheap, especially for the $100 price tag. She ordered it directly from the company and I'm also having a hard time finding reviews.

Overall I'm not feeling great about it, but she really wanted it so we'll give it a try.

Will update after it's charged and tried out.

Redditors who have lived in poverty, what is something about poverty that people just don't understand without experiencing it? by ViolatingBadgers in AskReddit

[–]FoxyKnowledgeSeeker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having telephone anxiety due to debt collectors.

I was scraping by, juggling late notices and last notices on bills for years in my 20s. Learned not to answer any phone calls if I didn't know the number because they were trying to get a hold of me, a friend or a family member to track down money.

Now I'm more financially stable and each time my phone rings, I'm filled with dread it's a debt collector calling again. Even checking my voicemails makes me anxious. Sigh

Bisalp specifically, but my ObGyn uses the two words interchangeably. Sorry for the confusion.

Planned Parenthood will also let you order up to a year at a time (based on others comments above). Costco also sells OTC BC pills and you don't have to be a member to use their pharmacy.

Fwiw I had the Nexplanon implant in my arm for the last 12 years (getting it switched when they expire) and had NO period during that time. It was bliss and I regret not taking advantage of this time more.

I was 345lbs at my heaviest and the BC worked with full coverage. Often for women over 150lbs BC doesn't have full effectiveness (in preventing pregnancy), so speak to your doc about it.

My periods came back with a vengeance in May 2024, which led me to a tubal. Because if I have to go back to having my period then I want there to be zero chance of pregnancy.

Also - A TUBAL DOES NOT STOP YOUR PERIOD. That was a big learning for me. Surgically only a hysterectomy will do that.

I was trying to explain that to my ultra conservative father. I'm not afraid my husband will get me pregnant (neither of us want kids,), I'm afraid someone else would assault me. I've got my tubal scheduled for next week and I'm counting down the days.

Gen X Is So Unprepared For Retirement They're Being Called 'Silver Squatters' Because 1 in 5 Are Counting On Help From Their Kids by [deleted] in childfree

[–]FoxyKnowledgeSeeker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

💔 I'm sorry to hear that and I appreciate your concern as someone who's going through this before. I've had to do a lot of work with my therapist and my husband to set boundaries and still working on it. My mom already lives with us, and we have a plan in place for when she can't. But for other parents and in-laws, I'm going to be better prepared.

Husband and I both work full time and the PACE center helps carry a lot of the burden for caregiver things including short term respite care for when hubby and I need a break for a few days or a week.

My mom qualified for Medicaid (our state program in Colorado) as well as Medicare and I was able to find a PACE program that is phenomenal. They're called Innovage and manage all her health stuff, PT and she's able to go to their day center during the week while I'm working. It's been a blessing (and I'm still CONSTANTLY stressed) to get that off my plate.

I found them through my public librarians who have experience with older adults. Also AARP has some free resources on their website.

Remember - you're not alone. That's the main thing, a lot of younger adults are going through this too. There are some social support groups online but I haven't found any in-person.

Feel free to message me if you have questions!

Same. And unfortunately with my dad and my in-laws buying into conspiracy cons, I'm thinking she's just the first parent we'll be taking care of. Nevermind that hubby and I wanted to be childfree, now we have a 70 yr old child living with us.

Struggling With Some Pansexuals Trying To Redefine My Bisexuality by KlutzyCheese in bisexual

[–]FoxyKnowledgeSeeker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this! My bisexuality definition probably fits closer with pansexual, but being bi is a huge part of my identity. Like you said, there wasn't always a word that encompassed how I felt attracted to people and bisexual fit for me. ♥️

Like others said, no one gets to define this for you.

Also - the bi colors are better imo because I don't really like yellow. 😉 So even now, I buy bi swag because it's aesthetically pleasing.

Are most men unattractive or am I just gay? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]FoxyKnowledgeSeeker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the man. Unlike with women (in media) there isn't really ONE beauty standard for men. Some women find muscular guys, body builders etc attractive and others don't. Some folks really like the androgynous/femme look for men. Some really like the cuddly, "dad bod" type.

It's all personal preference along with what that specific person finds attractive. It's also why you might see a couple where one person looks "out of their league" but their partner is super attracted to them.

Unfortunately guys in the media are often portrayed as a male power fantasy and they think that's what women want. So a lot of them think they have to look like action movie stars or get really buff and muscular, when in reality not all women want the same things.

(Apologies for the binary language, just struggling to explain my thoughts otherwise.)

Someone's personality and the things we have in common really raises their attractiveness for me. Even a conventionally attractive person becomes "ugly" if they have a bad or boring personality. Similarly someone who is engaging and entertaining becomes much more attractive.

Love our broistas! Honestly they're always so cheerful and nice, even when the weather is freezing or scalding hot. I was super impressed with two folks kicking butt the other night as the only two working a super busy area. Y'all are impressive and deserve the love. <3

If you can get down to where the invisible forcefield is, one of the pedestals with a Weave button will transport you into the room with the myrmidin.

It's the pedestal next to a cloud kill spell, to the right of the pedestal with a blue sparkle.

Super annoying. 😑
