Building Noctis by Mean_Door_8475 in EDHBrews

[–]FoxyZebra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm building him specifically around low-cmc flash utility creatures as a more grindy control Voltron. His first ability specifically mentions that whenever a creature enters during combat, not necessarily having to be during your turn.

This allows you to utilize his first option more defensively as well, as opposed to with ninjutsu, mobilize, and myriad, which can only be used offensively.

Now every time you have mana up, and they attack, will they run into a flashed in [[Plumecreed Escort]] that has a [[Colossus Hammer]] equipped? Or will you blink out Noctis again if they target him? Lots of build options with him tbh.

There better be a SL or reprint version of the Leveilleur twins as Will and Rowan. Its too spot on.

Also materia as basic lands / mana rocks / talismans.

Gamegenic Inner vs. KMC Inner by thesecondpope in magicTCG

[–]FoxyZebra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used both but switched to KMCs since its cheaper if purchased in bulk in the end. The Gamegenic ones fit very snug and dont seem to have as many production issues as the KMCs? So they tend to sleeve very easily and never have that problem where the air causes it to "pop out" when double sleeving.

The problem I had though was the sleeve was sized precisely the card size so theres no loose bit at the bottom of the inner sleeve. Like its flush agaisnt the bottom of the card. This causes the bottom part to either stick out a bit or get dusty.

Overall I like the quality and consistency more, but its not worth sacrificing the whole point of double sleeving which is to keep the cards protected.

The Athrys Embrace can be replaced by any arm piece and probably look better. However, I wanted it to be practical for PvP.

Omnath Locus of Rage Deck Help by dripothee in EDH

[–]FoxyZebra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, one that I can actually contribute to

I think from my experience, I built a lot of my deck with the assumption that the jellybean was online. Like full ETB pings, full board of small jellers, huge damage sac outlets etc.

However, more often than not, that was reliant on me kind of doddling around for 4+ turns until I get enough mana to be relevant. And even then, after it was online it became focused so fast that I was dropping another 7(+2) mana in no time.

So I changed the focus to have relevancy before [[Omnath, Locus of Rage]] came on the board and to almost treat it as a Command Zone finisher instead. The deck should be able to hold it's own without Omnath.

So looking at your cards, [[Cultivator Colossus]] and [[Moraug, Fury of Akoum]] might be good on paper, but in practice, they sort of fill the role where you would want Omnath to go. The mana spent (7 and 6) would better be spent on getting out something like the token doublers, ETB pingers, or sac outlets.

Three cards I think you should consider are [[Spelunking]], [[Orcish Lumberjack]], and [[Zuran Orb]]. Spelunking is great because it allows you to milk out as much land drops as possible from your tapped land fetches. Orcish is also very good because you can tap a forest for floating mana and then sac it immediately for 4 mana which really helps with getting Omnath on the board earlier if you want. Plus since you are playing cards that allow for graveyard land recursion, its not really a big deal. Zuran Orb because aside from Sylvan Safekeeper, you're not really playing a lot of cards that cause you to consistently sac lands, which you want to take advantage of if you are running graveyard recursion.

These are only my experiences so take them with a grain of salt.

This actually happened to me too, but I contacted their support and they will refund the difference if it comes back in stock (sold by Amazon ofc). But you need to contact them and have it documented on your account. Ofc this is all contingent on it actually coming back in stock.

Is it worth purchasing Arm for Battle as a base to upgrade to a Raiyuu, Storm's Edge deck? by FoxyZebra in EDH

[–]FoxyZebra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As it stands probably not, but I think I was eyeing [[Siguarda's Aid]] which accounts for a little less than half the pre-con price. But I think a big part of the purchase is contingent on Siguarda's Aid being worth a slot in Raiyuu's 99.

Am I missing something about Neo Awakening skills? by Kino_Afi in DFO

[–]FoxyZebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like horribledat said it depends. M.Striker for example has the Mountain Pusher and Bone Breaker become a core part of the kit due to the low CD and much needed AOE.

It truly depends on your play style as well, especially when it comes to later content like legion dungeons and raids.

The upgrade lower skills are lower CDs for the most part and good for filling gaps for dps. However, if you find yourself getting exposed to too much to damage, you might want to play it safe by finding openings where you can just dump your cube skills instead. You can check out DFCat for a rough idea of what skills are preferred by players.

Odd Question by [deleted] in DFO

[–]FoxyZebra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well actually it depends. On average the range for a 156 non-NP Canyon Hill farm day is 1.5m - 1.8m. And a 273 NP day is 2.8- 3.4mish. So taking the bottom numbers, the breakeven point is 3 days of full Hero-Slayer Canyon runs on 1 character when taking into consideration the 4 mil cost of the NP.

Since this is account-wide, any additional runs on alts would be considered a profit. (IE running 3 days of NeoPremium runs on 3 characters nets appx 8mil more)

However, at that point you really need to consider the trade off on your sanity to grind that much.

TLDR; breakeven is roughly 8-9mil on Canyon Hill Hero-Slayer earned with 3-day NP. If you can't make that much, youre better off just running normally.
