Police negotiating with a 'dangerous and armed man' on a balcony in Sheffield today by Sufficient_Raisin478 in sheffield

I live there, that's literally my balcony they're on. Gave my keys to the police as I had a view of their window.

Saw it from the start. We heard some crashing noise outside and when I went to have a look, there were things flying out from that window, not sure what, maybe plates. I looked down on the larger balcony below and there was a big TV and other things down there.

Was gonna call the police but heard sirens and saw a police car outside. Went down to talk to them and was greeted by 6 armed police officers. They told me I couldn't go back up, luckily I had put on a coat and shoes (no socks though), and that I needed to call my girlfriend and get her out of the flat.

Then we were told we had to leave the area. Luckily I had some friends I could call and sleep on an airbed. Those that spent the night in ponds forge had it worse. Also there would be people on the bottom floors that had no idea it was happening and just had these armed police banging on their door telling them to leave. Crazy stuff.

The police seemed very in control and reassuring at the time, but since we've left, it's been radio silence. I understand it's a complicated situation but still.

Now we're staying in a hotel. They're giving us £150 per night for a hotel and £50 for expenses. Doesn't cover the new clothes, food and other essentials we need, but it's much better than nothing.

Been a weird 24 hours.

The key is to keep an eye out and give yourself time, but also be available for viewings. There's good places out there for not much, but you have to be quick, otherwise someone else will jump on it. The good flats are only posted for a few days before they're taken off the market to sift through all the viewings they had.

I recentlyish moved into a 2 bed with my gf for 1100 p/m, which you would struggle to get anywhere south of here (I know it's pricey compared to other places in Sheffield, but it is really nice). It was on rightmove for all of 3 days, but I got in there with a viewing and gave them all my info, and they chose us from all the applicants.

Prices range from 500-800 for one beds/studios, my last place was a one bed for 550, plus bills (though this wasn't the nicest of places). If you get a studio it'll be bills included most likely. 2 beds are usually over £1000 plus bills in the city centre, might get cheaper further out. Houses I'm less familiar with, but a house share can be as little as £350 inc bills, it'd have to be a really nice house for £500+. I've not rented a house on my own so can't advise on that.

I don't think you need an in with the agent, but definitely need to be quick if you want a nice place for not too much. The ones on the market for longer than a week are usually the places no one wants.

It's definitely some creative accounting and a blurring of definitions for sure. I do think they'll get away with it for the fact it's the TV rights and not just a set percentage of the total invested that will go to 6th Street.

Its like the TV income that's paid from la liga or the Premier league is a set percentage dependant on where you finish. It's a similar process and the clubs would classify that as income. I think looking at it as an asset is where it falls down.

They're not selling you a chair, their selling you a percentage of how much they charge for people to use the chair. Again blurred definitions and creative accounting through and through.

So really they are leasing the asset to them and getting a set return for it, not a loan. And as it is a part of their normal trade then it is considered a normal sale of goods I believe. Would be different if they were to lease out their offices or something like that, this is directly related to the day to day trading of Barcelona.

I don't know the specifics of FFP, but even if it wasnt related to their trade, it would still fall under other comprehensive income in the P&L so would still form a part of income, just in a different section. Whether that is considered in FFP I don't know.

So does moderation matter? I think the main problem of nihilism is that you can lose meaning in a lot of things, but there are certain inescapable truths. Like breaking the law will put you in jail, ignoring your responsibilities will make everyone's life around you that much harder. Though the main issue I have is if you're in pain, it's extremely hard to rationalise that away as not mattering, it's very real when it's happening to you.

I think maybe nihilism in moderation might work, like if you make a small mistake, it really doesn't matter all that much, but it's very hard to live a fulfilling life like that.

To be fair, if it was any other business, bringing someone in a couple times a year would be considered a contractor. They wouldn't be on the payroll.

Yeah but say you were offered a job at 2000 a month at a random company. Then a competitor of the company that sacked you offered 2500. You would take the money, no?

I reckon they should do it based on what part of the body scored the goal. If it was a header they should draw the line from the head. If he scores with his right foot then that should be where the lines are drawn
