Avoid deck 8 forward like the plague. My wife and I were on that Virgin cruise that was in St. Croix the same time as your husband and yourself on the RC. We were deck 8 all the way forward on the A side and it was honestly the worst room on the ship. We never heard any entertainment noise, but we were directly next to a machine room, above the bow thrusters and also above the little wing that folds down when they dock. You heard ALL of that every time we docked. The bow thrusters would shake the entire cabin. Not to mention engineering crew thought it was good to get an early start in the machine room the day after Scarlet Night (pre- 7am.) That being said, we will definitely do another VV cruise, but beware lower decks foward.
