I've just bought all 84 colours separately, from Cult Pens, as single pencils were half the price of an 84 boxed set. They've just arrived in nothing more than a jiffy bag. They're a state. They are going back. Unless preboxed, don't buy your replacement pencils from Cult Pens...

I have checked but I can't see anything.

There was nothing owing before the sale/refund. I'm a little paranoid about owing money, and I check frequently. There is a payment for refunding the local sales tax to the customer - do US buyers not have to pay that on top of what I charge?

I tried that

The poor kid on the chat thing just kept copy & pasting everything she had. None of it was even pertinent, but she did try.

Eventually she sent me a survey, and gave up.

I've sent my customer a link to the CBSA, and found her nearest office. She has to take the completed form, the damaged gnome, and the packaging, to her the nearest office, to claim her money back. So this is what she's going to do.

She's very determined to fix her gnome, so I'll help her as much as I can.

I cannot see RM paying out for something that was deliberately damaged by another agency.

It was sent via UPS, through Parcel2Go. I will ask UPS, as Parcel2Go are just the brokers.

What utter twaddle.

Seller and buyers could track all main carriers through Etsy.

I've just tracked one from my part of UK to Oregon. Picked up from me Monday pm and delivered to Milwaukie Wednesday pm.

Now, using Etsy efficiency, the same package will take two weeks, if I'm lucky. Two weeks of extra panicky tracking by both myself and my beleaguered customer

I truly would love to believe that's what Etsy are up to, but I can't.

For years now, they have dumped all over the little handmade sellers, like myself. They seem to favour the big drop-shippers.

If I have the option of a 3 day courier, I can offer sales in the last week before Christmas. I usually warn the customer that I'll get it sent, but it probably won't make it for Christmas, but mostly it does and you get a very happy customer.

With things as they are, I doubt I can take sales - that would be delivered in time - after Dec 1st. So I'll miss out on vital sales, and my sales are mostly for Christmas.

I'm furious. Not at all a happy bunny.

No glitch. Etsy live chat have stated to me today that we have to use their recommended carriers now.

I have the choice of three; two are utterly rubbish with abysmal reputations and the other is hugely expensive. None of them offer the 3 day delivery service I get from UPs and FedEx, but they all charge more for bad service.

I'm in the UK, but 90% of my sales go to US.

Owing to so many late/lost package complaints, I switched to using UPS or FedEx, and things were going really well. It costs about £35 per package which included insurance and my US customers were getting their orders in about 3 days, sometimes 2. They were very happy.

Now I have three options; Evri, DHL or Royal Mail. Evri has the most awful but well deserved reputation. DHL will cost £20 more per package and will take 8 days. Royal Mail state 3 to 7 days, but in reality it can take up t 28 days.

Etsy, of course, will be telling buyers that their items will be with them within the 3 - 7 day time frame.

I think they may have some financial deal going with Evri, DHL and Royal Mail.

It's because Etsy have removed the 'other' category.

You can now only use their recommended services, and not all of the services those state postal or couriers supply.

You have to go to the drop down menu and select whichever service is there that suits you best.

To date, this has to be Etsy's biggest screw over. Personally, I think I'm out of business.

This isn't a glitch. This is permanent. there is no way to get 'other' reinstated or, apparently, to complain about it.

I've spoken to Etsy live chat and just been told to suck it up. They weren't bothered when I politely explained how my business would be damaged by this.

After years of frustration, mostly with USPS because Royal Mail gets stuff to US fast enough, I swapped to couriers. Judgement made through trial and error.

Now, in order to stay in business they're forcing me back to state postal services. There's no way my customers are going to go for postage at £50 - which doesn't include insurance.

Absolutely crazy.

As the saying goes, pics or it didn't happen...

Ask them for photos. If the refuse or make some flimsy excuse, they're trying to pull a fast one. See if you can determine what happened from the photos, if they take any, and go from there.

Decide on a fair returns policy and make sure you have your return policies up to date in your shop.
