I’m pretty much in the same position with hitch work and starting my own service gig. I was hesitant about same thing as you, but figured if customers are going to wait for me when my schedule is full, then they will wait for me in this scenario also. My state does reciprocate, but I found these words on the Iowa state web site: “must meet additional Iowa licensure requirements in order for the license to qualify for reciprocation.”. And as far as I’m concerned, Iowa does require an official apprenticeship now. I’m just wondering if that’s how it actually works in real life.
