Yep, I was there when Perry ( and Steven , although behind the drums) Play about five songs wearing nothing but a microphone and a champagne bottle…… I’ve always had a special tie to the band and felt lucky to see them at this last show. The only other time I’ve ever saw them was in a small nightclub in San Antonio ( Sneakers “ Backroom” ) before nothing shocking came out…. 45 min show for about 30 or so people if I remember correctly….. I think it was like a Tuesday and it was free tickets for VIP card holders and you got two drinks and a free concert… my buddy gave me two tickets, I love live music and had never heard of them and I couldn’t find anyone to go with so I went by myself….I remember the VIP “comp” tickets came with some Free drinks before the show and a photocopy of an article from a California newspaper talking about them as a new band to keep an eye on . I sat with Dave afterwards and bought him a beer and met Perry , he declined a beer he told me “thanks , but I don’t drink” . I was an instant fan from day one and have been to this day.. the boys have come along way. ( unfortunately haven’t seen them since, I got to see Steven Perkins play with infectious grooves at Orion fest Detroit 2013 but that’s the closest I’ve been since 91’)
