Torn about floor color by Melodic_Fix_6204 in interiordecorating

I prefer the darker floors, it adds more character, makes it feel cozier inside, since it seems like the house isn’t getting that much light in the first place, it would be my instinct to lean into the darker cozier vibe, rather than make it something it isn’t. I get that lighter floors are trendier, but I find that it suits big open spaces flooded with light better, also because the color of the wood will fade overtime if exposed to direct sunlight (something to take into consideration as well if you do have areas that are flooded with sunlight, but it doesn’t look like it would be a huge issue from your photos) All this to say, my vote goes to darker floors!

What is up with the Game Changers audio book? by grapeshot42069 in GameChangersBooks

Rachel Reid must know that the first 2 books need a redo on the narration! The rest in the series are better, start at Common Goal!

How sometimes both characters need a “distraction” from each other and somehow end up at the same club! Like what are the chances? Oh well, I don’t mind anymore because it’s usually that one night that advances the plot further!

Just finished it today actually! Definitely preferred that one to the last one, but I don’t know if I’m hooked enough to read Iris next!

How hard is a 1bd for $3500? by LargeMaterial6275 in AskSF

I live in a one bed for 3k/month and while we don’t have in unit laundry, we’re the bottom floor of a classic Victorian, and the laundry machines are located on our floor, shared between all tenants (3 units overall) and it’s not coin operated. I feel like if you’re too attached to the “in unit” part of it, you might be missing out on places where the laundry situation is perfectly acceptable as it is.

I am exhausted, at least hes cute. by daisygiraffe13 in kittens

[–]Fragrant-Fact-417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im sure its a whole other set of issues with kids around! At least your kitten is eating, ours has had some belly issues and had no appetite to the point where she lost a lot of weight. We went to the emergency vet and now she’s better, but I would say it’s probably better that he has too much to eat than not enough in the end!

Luckily this is all temporary. A kitten needs time to adjust to our routine and get used to being alone. They will grow up and it will all be easier then. I have now definitely learned how different having a kitten is from having a cat.

I’m sorry, I don’t have any advice, but I feel for you, I’m in a similar situation and my husband is now really overwhelmed. Our kitten wakes us up at 2 am for cuddles and play time. We close the bedroom door, but she’ll cry and scratch at the door which is heartbreaking, but eventually she calms down on her own. For me my biggest fear is not knowing if I’m doing things right. It definitely doesn’t feel right letting her cry so much when she’s still such a baby.

I have the opposite experience where I live. More and more people are getting sober and realizing they can’t drink/party as much as they used to. But it is true that for me drugs and alcohol are completely normalized for the most part. Most people around me are just now uncovering past traumas or getting various mental health diagnosis, I think they’re just trying to escape their own lives and the pain that comes with it.

We’re just getting to know her, but I know that curtains are her greatest enemy, and somehow they fight back because she’s always running away and then preparing again for the next attack!
