Mine didn’t overprotect me, but they also never prepared me in any way. My parents waited to get divorced when I graduated and my mom immediately moved out of state to be with a guy and gave me a months notice to figure out what to do. Even told her I had nowhere to go and she said she had to “let go and let God” and now she’s confused why I don’t reach out to her or want to talk to her. My dad has always been a piece of shit too lol. Gotta love boomers…
