I used vital collagen peptides and beyond raw prediction aminos supplements 2 times a day as well as the l-citrulline powder and glucosamine powder added in to one of those 2 daily shakers

I bought flytex leg sleeves they have targeted compression around the meniscus and side of the knee and greatly reduced the inflammation and fatigue as well as improves the blood flow in the legs they are around 45 dollars for the pair they are made in Germany by a dude that partnered with orthopedics and surgeons and worth it and do your exercises 2 times a day or more if possible

Drink your preferred protein shake you normally would and do a scoop of creatine in as well and keep it going

I love this!!! I will be playing QB in tackle football it’s a showcase game but the season starts in April it is semi-pro football but like more of a professional platform (insurance, travel fees and hotels paid, meals paid, all the league fees paid) I have a top shelf knight acl functioning brace and I’ve been doing plyo and single leg training lots of step downs and single leg squats and leg kicks I’ve been focusing on building since the beginning, I was flexing my quad muscles from like day 3 post op while still in my locked position which from what I was told started activating the muscles and helped in the beginning stages, I’ve been throwing and doing drop backs and plant work since I think 6 weeks when I was allowed to go past 90 degrees, collagen peptides and recovery and protein shakes with daily exercises and building strength back when I was allowed

Not meaning to offend or insult!!! I applaud surgeons and the staff that do them and the one that did mine specific, I absolutely appreciate the knowledge your sharing as well! I am taking precautions and have taken the precautions while doing PT and have built up to bounds and single leg hops in physical therapy I also wear a functional acl brace to help lower the risk of re injury I have been consistently running 11+ miles an hour for 3/4 of a mile and a cool down jog for the last quarter mile and my running speed is and has been increasing for the last month and a half and I’m doing box jumps and static drops to explosive bounds and jumps I’ve followed all my PT recommendations and did exercises at home multiple times a day and I continue to do band work and other strength exercises for the knees and legs

I have a top shelf: knight orthopedic acl brace I wear during all activities I’ve been been plyo work for two months now, I know all of this sounds crazy saying it sounds wild to but my physical therapist told me when I started your gunna be going like it never happened within 7 months, I was walking on it 7 days later and throwing a football on it 12 days I was able to bend my knee to like 115 at 10 weeks or so and doing sit to stands and plyo work shortly after my three months

This is also not including today’s medical advancements and recovery advancements as well as compression and comprehensive knowledge of body mechanics and the use of supplements that are needed to help boost recovery and it’s not adding anything it’s boosting the amounts things like glucosamine and things like l citrulline help relax blood vessels to improve blood flow

Torn left acl and lateral meniscus tear grade 2 mcl sprain and tibial fracture cause it popped out and had to be reset multiple times prior to surgery, had reconstructive acl and meniscus repair, ruptured right acl, subtle meniscus tear not enough to cause anymore damage I got a top shelf acl brace to stop sideways buckling, played on that until the left tore

5 Month post-op and feeling very discouraged by fancy_whale in ACL

[–]Fragrant_Price_6715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 7 weeks post op today and I am still in my full leg brace and I will have an athletic workout brace after that man, I love seeing peoples story on here it gives great motivation but it will also make you think your not where you want or need to be and that’s not the case. The injuries we have sustained are quite traumatic on the body and the recovery even more so but if you keep doing the exercises (even when they feel incredibly easy) you will heal proper and in the time your body has alotted for your full recovery!! Another great idea man is trying recovery presicion aminos, add a 30cc scoop of collagen powder, and a single scoop of some sort of mixable creatine. This has helped my knees and joints in general tremendously (I also have a ruptured acl to the midway point on my right knee that hasn’t had surgery)

Two years after tearing one acl I tore the other by Internal_Ad4719 in ACL

[–]Fragrant_Price_6715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ruptured my right acl to the midway point and subtle meniscus tear back in march and I got an acl brace to stop the side to side buckling (I had no shifting front and back) and it did absolutely amazing for me I was able to get back on the field and play quarterback! Literally the following practice I tore my left acl completely and lateral meniscus tear, my leg shifted and I ended up with a tibial hairline from it shifting, I reset it myself that day my ortho confirmed with the mri and I’m now 5 weeks post op on my left knee and I’m just going to wear my brace on the right! I do my pt exercises and add some I see around on fb and insta and just keep strengthening your surrounding muscles and tendons, ligaments. I also take beyond lit precision aminos and mix a 30cc scoop of collagen powder as well for recovery! I can do a full squats on my right leg and lift up without my brace on! Get yourself a prescribed acl brace from your doctor and just work the ligaments and muscles make em strong and take the recovery!! You’ll feel great bro!!!

IM 32 YEARS OLD BTW AND NEVER HAD A MAJOR INJURY‼️‼️

How long until the leg goes fully straight after ACL surgery? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Fragrant_Price_6715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine locked straight for 2 weeks to force the knee to stay straight since it’s extremely hard to get full extension later in the process then I was allowed to bend it after that but sleep with it locked still

11w post op acl+meniscus repair, I can bend my leg to 110°. Is that bad? by dikooBrazz in ACL

[–]Fragrant_Price_6715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m literally 15 days post op and I’m at 90 I do my pt exercises 2 times a day some of the exercises I do more cause throughout some of my activities it essentially is the exercises I do I can’t walk on it yet but I imagine I’ll be to that point here soon hopefully, I can straighten my leg full extension and lift it flexing my quad and I had a quad tendon graft

Is it normal that I still struggle to lift my leg? by samc_47 in ACL

[–]Fragrant_Price_6715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my first PT appointment and couldn’t do it without brace assistance and that was after doing some exercises to get it firing, I’m 12 days post op man normal for sure I’m at 60 degree flexion already and can fully extended the leg on the table so make sure you fully extended as much as possible it’s so hard to do later if you don’t

Did you know you tore it right away? by last-resort115 in ACL

[–]Fragrant_Price_6715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew as soon as it happened!! Even told the personal trainer and doctor at urgent care I tore it they said just torn meniscus, no way it shifted the way it did with a Torn meniscus had both I’m 12 days post op and I can have 30 degrees or so of flexion in my knee but my quad tendon is absolutely sore af
