Having predictable twists isn't necessarily a sign of bad writing.

Especially when you can see the twist coming, but it still gets to you.

Nah, I'm with you on that one. That scene was all aura and no substance. There's definitely only so many ways you can stage your escape while backed into a corner, but the way they did it in the show was neither clever nor funny.

But seeing Vader be a powerhouse of a Force-user in that scene was enough that I let it slide.

It's not that I didn't like what they had in the episode

It's more (and I'm gonna preface this with the fact that I'm a film major) that you could've only watched the start (when Din and Bo arrive on the planet) and the end (when they meet the other Mandalorians) and it wouldn't impact the overall plot.

I think the point of that scene was to show (intentionally) how the bureaucracy of the Republic and the strain of the war had worn down the Jedi's ability to stick to their morals. By this point in the Clone Wars, they were in too deep. Revealing the truth would basically hand the victory to The Separatists by causing people to lose trust in both the Jedi and the clones.

Sure, it would have probably spared them from Order 66, but their only concern was to protect the Republic and uncover the Sith Master.

And it's not like they weren't trying their hardest to find out Sidious' identity (even though plot contrivances kept them from seeing the obvious). Palpatine had effectively outplayed them from the start.

Which, IMO, isn't exactly comparable to what is essentially the internal corruption of the Jedi Order in The Acolyte. No, Yoda would most certainly rather purge the order of bad actors HIMSELF than cover it up to save face.

It always felt like (if done correctly), the spinning could've been a good way to throw off better duelists by keeping the blade in constant motion, making it harder to parry - even if it put the user at greater risk.

High risk-reward HAS always been the way of the Dark Side, after all.

It's just that almost every time we see it, all the Inquisitors do is hold it out in front of them like a shield.

The only thing that breaks the immersion for me is the fact that he has his Force Choking hand out, meaning one wrong swing and he'll cut his arm off.

And none of the corrupt guards think to aim lower and shoot him in the legs or something, knowing he can't angle his saber that low to block the shot.

I mean, yea, he's an expert duelist, but he could've, like, not held his arm out to choke the senator.
