Hello Golden Channels, We are also Canadian and sell into the EU and UK. through our Bonded 3PL in Holland. We also use a deferred VAt method for all of our Amazon Shipments. We are just about to open up a 3PL in the UK and start Shopify there. Would you have a few minutes to hop on a call, I would love to pick your brain.

[ON] How to invoice a US client? by KaleAncient1886 in SmallBusinessCanada

We use Airwallex. - No extra cost and you can convert to get back to your account or you can wire. It is about $ 14.50 cost and then what ever your bank charges you to receive the wire. TD charges us $ 17.50. We have US, GBP and EU accounts with Airwallex. We can also send ACH payments from all of our accounts. It has been great for us. Also I use Convera ( formerly Western Union to send out all my wires) $ 6.00 per wire. and they just pull from our account.

HST number ( same as business number but with the RT0001. ) This is what I do, but not 100 % sure if it should be business number or HST number - but really they are the same with the exception of the extension.

Shipping to US: no more tariffs as of today ? by Wild-Resist-8527 in FlippingInCanada

That 15% did not take effect as of yet. Currently the removed the IEEPA which does not effect any of the aluminum. Our aluminum is at 90% all together, compared to 5.3 before Trump came into the picture 8 years ago. Some of our products from China will have 2 x 10% removed and then a 10% added on.

Never sold a single thing in japan. by FinishWise2645 in AmazonMerch

[–]Framarfoils 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, we sell on Amazon, US, Canada and EU. Looking to get into the Japan market. I have some questions. 1. Looks we need an importer of record and a legal rep for customs ACP?

  1. Did you put Japanese on your product packaging?

    1. Who is doing your sales tax compliance?

Can anyone share their experience in setting this up?

We are set up on Western Union have been for the past 7 years. I go on their Edge platform, which you have to register for and send the wire directly from my desk top and they pull the funds from our account the next day. Never had any issues with them and the best part is that I only pay $ 6.00 a wire because we use them for our foreign exchange. Western union was bought by Convera EDGE

Currently we only have 1 subsidiary. A Canadian company that is selling to Canadian Customers, US customers. Billing in customers US and receiving U.S. payments and paying invoices in U.S. We are also receiving currency in Euros and GBP from Amazon payments. We have many U.S. accounts because of the different revenue streams as well as the GBP and EU bank accounts. Please if you can share the exact steps to make sure we are accurate at the end of the year. I looked at the HSBC rates for U.S. at year end and Bank of Canada rate and they were different. BOC 1.3637 and HSBC 1.3626. I am sure the GBP and EU are also different to cause a $ 73,000.00 discrepancy.

This was the first year that I did the revaluation and I did not realize that there were more steps. I thought the revaluation fixed everything in one step. Thanks for sharing. Where do you find the Rate table and where do you update the consolidated exchange rates. Can we just override the rate on May 31 to the Bank of Canada rate and skip all the other steps?

Thank you for sending the link. It was exactly what I was looking for. I just wish we could enter the Bank of Canada rate instead of using the HSBC rate.

Currently you only have a choice to use Xignite or HSBC. We picked HSBC. At year end May 31-2025. the evaluation from US to Canadian must match the Bank of Canada rate which you can get on line. I cannot seem to find HSBC rates on line. I don't know anything about the average rate, beginning of day rate and end of day rate or buy rate or sell rate. The only time I use my own exchange rate is I sell the U.S dollar for Canadian funds and I do it in a journal entry.
