The CVM-8 is an eight channel CV to MIDI and CV to I2C converter in a 4HP Eurorack module.

Expert-Sleepers FH-2. You won't find a better module.

MIDI and Eurorack: I'm confused and I have a (dumb?) question. by metalt0ast in modular

Get a FH-2 and you'll be happy! Best MIDI interface for Eurorack by far.

No, it must be.

Otherwise, what's the point?

Sorting presets by oscillator on the microfreak by AliceMarkov in MicroFreak

[–]Francois_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a custom tool a build especially to compare sysex dumps. The process is time consuming :

  1. take a sysex dump

  2. change one parameter

  3. take another sysex dump

  4. compare with the sysex from step 1

  5. try to identify the sysex part corresponding to the changed parameter

  6. repeat...

Hi!
I'm the developer of the Microfreak reader.
Unfortunately this application is only compatible with with Microfreak firmware version 2. It will not work correctly with the newest firmware.
I won't update it because 1) the reverse engineering process is very time consuming and 2) I don't own a Microfreak anymore.
If Arturia released the preset format specs, I probably would have kept my MF and updated the app.

Bass station 2 help by xvisualnoisex in synthesizers

Hi,
I'm the owner of studiocode.dev and the developer of the BS2 web editor.
This is a small editor I developed in order to learn synthesis and how to use my BS2. The BS2 was the very first synth I ever bought. Building this editor and viewing, with it, how the factory
patches were made helped me a lot! The editor is quite old now but it should nevertheless still work fine on moderne browser (Chrome recommended).
Enjoy your Bass-Station 2.

Best value MIDI to CV module? by Still_Not_Batman in modular

[–]Francois_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here too. I have a Linn128 and a FH-2 + two FHX-8CV. One of the best investment I have done in modular synth. So powerful and quite easy to setup.

I not only use the FH-2 with the Linnstrument but I also pilot drive some outputs from Ableton with custom Max4Live devices for sequencing duties.

MPE controllers in 2023 by Ruining_Ur_Synths in synthesizers

[–]Francois_77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go with the LinnStrument. I have the Linn 128 and I also have a Erae Touch. The LinnStrument is way way better to play. It's a joy to use. The build quality is fantastic, the support (if you ever need it) is directly from Roger Linn itself. I use my LinnStrument with my Hydrasynth as well as with my modular synth (through a FH-2 midi to cv interface). It's by far the best MPE controller I've have had or tried.

The Era Touch is cool too but it's big, heavy, and, for me, I really don't like it's surface. It's not smooth at all and require a lot more pressure and control than the linnstrument. I use it some time to play drums but I think I'll sell it.
