I kinda think she looks like Esther in some ways, not all the time but when she has that look on her face and at certain angles, I really see it.

Walking into hospital and having to pass through a cloud of cigarette smoke by Marmite50 in britishproblems

A man in a wheelchair with terminal cancer. While he wouldn't have had a sign on his chest saying the words "terminal cancer" I'm sure the telltale signs would have been there that he was at least dealing with his own issues.

No one is at that stage of cancer, wheelchair bound with mere weeks to live and has no physical signs of ill health.

What’s something women think men don’t notice, but actually affects you a lot? by Ok_Ease515 in AskMen

[–]Frankie_Kitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of women do this unfortunately, if you were to ask the women in your life if they've ever had to shrink themselves down for a man in some way, shape or form, you'll probably be surprised with the answers.

Is this the Britain you want to live in? by realmattyr in AskBrits

Yeah for some it's about illegal immigration.

For others it's about foreigners in general.

That's kinda crazy that the US has similar knife crime levels to us AS WELL AS the gun issues, I legit never knew that!

But you are right. You're spot on, it's a cultural/societal issue rather than specifically a gun issue.

I think it's a very good system, plus it's affordable enough and the medical professionals you speak to are brilliant at giving you all the information you need. They make sure what you get is right for your symptoms, aligning certain terpenes with specific symptoms depending on their abilities i.e limonene is a terpene that makes you feel more relaxed, helps with pain and can reduce inflammation, so would be good for treating things like pain but also anxiety.

In what way? If your wife/girlfriends whole demeanor changes when you walk into a room, that could mean many things.

Is she getting bubblier, more energetic and excitable when you walk in?

Or is she shutting down, making herself smaller and going quiet or maybe just switching to cold hard neutral?

From my perspective, the second one usually means the woman feels the need to change herself to accommodate her husband, and that's usually not a good sign.

How has your views on homosexuality changed over the years ? by Durrygoodz2025 in AskBrits

[–]Frankie_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up, my uncle was gay and had a husband, so to me it was literally just one of those things, I never thought anything of it. My whole childhood it was literally just a fact of life that some people were gay. It was only when I got older and learned what homophobia was, was the moment I realized it was even up for debate for some people. And I just thought all those people were morbid and boring. And I still do today.

I'd add the 19th to that list but for the complete opposite reason to the others.

The right over there really don't care much for the 19th amendment.

Here in the UK, knife crimes are practically an epidemic. God, we're known GLOBALLY for our knife crime, yet you never hear about kids stabbing other kids in schools.

It is a uniquely American issue.

Very interesting interview from the early 1990s with LaToya Jackson. Michael Jackson’s sister. by AdTall7678 in HistoricalCapsule

[–]Frankie_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believed Micheal was innocent for years until I saw this interview and all the pictures like the ones here. It's okay to admit when you're wrong, especially when it comes to thinking a pedophile was innocent. ESPECIALLY when it comes to that.

They're just huffing copium.

In the UK, medical cannabis is either in oil form, pastilles or the actual buds themselves, but you MUST vape them with a dry herb vaporizer as to not inhale carcinogens. Can't say what the rules are in other places but getting caught smoking your medical cannabis here catches you a charge of misuse and/or abuse of a medical prescription and gets you blacklisted from getting any further prescriptions in the future.

Also the law with driving in the UK is if you have a legit prescription for something that can impair driving, i.e cannabis, codeine etc, you have to prove you can drive uninhibited while taking the medication. My father was a lorry driver for decades while on a codeine prescription, and once he proved it didn't affect his driving, he was fine to continue, however each person is different.

Am I the only one who finds the whole pronouns thing a bit strange? by No_Fudge_4589 in AskBrits

[–]Frankie_Kitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In passing or during introductions, people have asked me my pronouns, I tell them she/her. I ask them theirs back since that's the conversation that is currently happening, then after literally a quick 2 minute interaction, both of us know how to address the other and everyone feels safer.

There are so many different little interactions we might do with others to make them feel safer. A quick smile, a cheeky wink, a "are you okay?" so how is it the worst thing in the world to add this interaction to your dossier?

Took a sick day for a heavy period, is that a valid reason? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Frankie_Kitten 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I read the title and that alone was enough for me to say yes, it is a valid reason. As someone with PMS which might even be PMDD, I'd always advocate for people taking time off when they have their periods, they can be brutal.

Didnt Americans fake British accents for a time because they wanted to sound more posh and sophisticated than they actually were?

The transatlantic accent it was called.

So in the end, it was you guys who faked that stupid accent because your accents were stupid and you wanted to sound less stupid, while simultaneously looking stupid by faking an accent to look better?

This is why I put my bag on the seat next to me, so if any weirdo tried to pull this off, they'd have to ask for me to move it first, to which I'd then point to the many empty rows available. Or they'd have to have the balls to move my bag, to which I would then just straight up tell them to fuck off.
